Jackson (he's called Kincaid) to swear at each other. Recommend). I liked both these films and made me pumped so I only listen to music the 2 hour ride home. The IT 2017 looks terrible and seems to miss the point. Scary Clown is not why It is scary.

The Reading Quest

Since I've decided to be in a constant readathon mode, I'm singing up for another one. Though this one is pretty cool. It based on video games and role playing.

#TheReadingQuest is a four week long challenge going from Sunday 13th August to Sunday 10th September, 2017 and its being ran by . There will eventually be a champion who will win a book and there also a specific Australian prize if you're located there. I'm not really in for wining (but I also love a free book). I just think this a fun idea. Here's the sign up page if you're interested.

EXP: 20
HP: 114

You pick a character and follow their Quest path. I have choose the Mage path, I'll probably do the Barb path if I complete the Mage despite them not touching. (This adorable art work was done by CW of Read, Think, Ponder).

Bout of Books 15

I am once again doing the Bout of Books readathon. It's running from the 4th to 10th January.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

My Goals

  • TO READ A LOT.

Books to Read

  • All of the Above by James Dawson
  • Sleepless by Lou Morgan
  •  Demons of Ghent by Helen Grant
  • Urban Legends by Helen Grant
  • Superman Annual 2014
  • Straight White Male by John Niven
  • Batman Annual 2014

Updates

Monday 4.1.2016 (wrote Tuesday, 8.42am(my web page messed up and I had to write this again.))
What I read today: All of the Above by James Dawson
Total of books read today: 1
No. of books started today: 0
No. of pages read today: 142 pages
Books Finished: 1
Thoughts: Very little reading done today, due to sleeping through the day. I have flipped my sleeping pattern. I'm trying to fix it but I'm failing.

Tuesday 5.1.2016 (wrote Tuesday, 6.53 am)

Challenge-Would you rather:
  • Lend books to someone who dog-ears pages or to someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers?
Dog eared because food stains are the worst.
  • Be able to meet one character of your choice or meet one author of your choice?
I have to say character because that just seems more magical.
  • Never be allowed in a book store again or never be allowed in a library again?
I don't think I could function never being allowed in a library again but I would certainly save money if I was banned from all bookshops and online shopping is a thing.
  • Have to choose one of your favorite characters to die in their book or have to pick one of your favorite couples to break up in their book?
I would certainly break up the couple mainly because none of my favourite couples are fully canon. Also people break up and move on. You usually can't move on from being dead, except in some books.
  • Be required to read Twilight once a year for the rest of your life or The Scarlet Letter once a year for the rest of your life?
I've never read The Scarlet Letter but Twilight was certainly enough once and it's four books and I'm the type of person who would have to read them all.
What I read today: Demons of Ghent by Helen Grant,
Total of books read today: 1
No. of books started today: 1
No. of pages read today: 200ish pages
Pages read total: 342 pages
Books Finished Today: 0

Total Books Finished:1
Thoughts: I made a mistake of continuing to read the I'm reading without taking a note of the page I was on. I can't decide if it was more or less than 200 pages so I've decided just go for that number. Today could have been better. My reverse sleeping pattern is still problematic.

How 2014 went?

So we have started a new year and BBC Hogmanay was as terrible as always even with having Twin Atlantic being a main feature. My siblings gave me money and nail polish set. The nail polish while cool was a surprise because I complain about polish more I than wear nail polish that isn't chiped black. My sister once again drank a bottle of Captain Jack Strawberry & Cream.

So lets go over last year goals in all it glory. So there were:
  1. Read 100 books.
  2. I want to finish writing The Stranger.
  3. To continue with this weekly blog. Maybe even to have blog main topics pre-written and thought out more.
  4. I think maybe focusing more on Creative Writing.
  5. Start keeping a diary every day better than I did last year.
  6. To pass my driving tests.
  7. To write Personal Statement and applied to UCAS (University).
  8. To do filming this summer so I have a good portfolio of stuff and not just use something because it all I've got.
  9. To do well in my studies of all sort.
  10. To get a job.
  11. To read 50 books by British Authors
  12. To read 60 books from existing book pile.
  13. To finish ten book series.
I accomplished my first goal by reading 113 books this year. So that was easily.
I have not finished The Stranger but I do know where it going. I'm wondering if I give it a rest for while because I'm just not happy with it in current form. It needs edited badly but I also would really like a finished draft before I tear apart what's there. So once again, not finished.
Thirdly, this blog is still a live but I backtracked a lot of posts and I don't want to do. I've actually felt rather overwhelm with this blog a little bit. But then again that mostly the book reviews that stress me out since I blank on my opinion a lot because I don't take notes and sometimes take months after reading a book to actually get around to writing the review. There was no pre-written despite my many plans.

My creative writing while worked on, nothing was finish so I have nothing to show which sucks and my diary keeping was no better.

I have failed a theory test, my UCAS is yet to be sent and my portfolio is about to be edited in a panic. But hey I did do a lot of filming. I'm behind in studios and I have yet to pass a nab. Fun.

I decided not to get job, till this summer as I felt I would rather focus on my study and it was awkward with me disappearing for three weeks and starting college.

My more general books were mostly not done officially. I read 41 books by British Authors which probably means that the Americans still out rank the Brits. I still did pretty well as for the Mount TBR Challenge that was a complete fail with me only reading 19 books that I owned before 2014 occurred. Though, I did read a few of the books I brought this year. I finished 8 series this year so while not great is still pretty good. I'll do better next year. I mean I have already started and finished a whole series this year.

So mostly fail when it came to my goals, but I never gave up up on any of them and that's the important part. Important to keep pushing yourself till you get the goals you miss. I shall see you next week with a pre-written post about this year's goals.

Broken Things.

Hello friends of the internet, I went to Food Town Day today. Don't worry I didn't partake in any of that. I went to a café that opened everyday and ate food that you could get everyday. Okay, so I didn't really go to Food Town Day, It was raining so barely any one did go and it's a tourist scam anyway.

You're be horrified to find out that I broke my Book Buying Ban in a major way. I didn't just break it, I smashed it on the ground whist the glue was seting and then did that same thing again. Yes, I brought books three times this month. I brought 13 books on Monday, (I also brought a book for a pound but that doesn't count), four on Thursday and another five today. I have a serious problem. It's not my fault it's Waterstones. No, BookTube. Goodreads? Mine? No, it couldn't be. It's yours.

Okay, now I'm just blaming everyone. It's mine for being weak. Sure, I have excuses: my TV and laptop broke on the same day; making me depress and I buy books when I'm depressed. It probably not the best coping mechanism, but definitely not the worst. I went to steal my little brother's TV today but he was in there and still is. Not using the TV though. I've stolen my mum's laptop successfully.

I know why I do it partly, I just wish my book guilt would override my want of books. I shouldn't have decided somewhere in my brain because my TV and laptop broke meant my Book Buying Ban should match.

I have started a new system to tackle my Mount TBR challenge. Every time I read a book I don't actually own e.g. library, netgalley; I have to read a book I own before I can read another book I don't own. I have my doubts that I'll stick to it fully, but it should at least stop me having months without reading any books that are actually mine.

I'm also having a book giveaway on my BookTube channel, I'm giving away some books that I'm planing to get rid of anyway (mainly because I own several copy of them). That's all for this week, I'll leave with the giveaway video.

Flordia, Life and Book Related Plans.

I have some exciting news that Flordia is booked for October 2014. It definitely happening I will be leaving Scotland in October to experince a American Halloween and returning in Noveber to experince a Scottish winter. One of those is a lot funner than other. This course means that I will have to stop spending so much money on books which is something I should be doing anyway. But I'll need dollars to survile the states and there will be things I will want to buy over there.

Obviously, I will be going to Disney World and Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion which expansion is going to be opened by the time we get there. Also I can get excited over Universal Halloween Horror Nights.  We going to for three weeks so does mean I'm going to have some stuff pre-written/filmed in case I don't have easy access to the internet. Just because I'm going on Holiday doesn't mean I can abandon my online duties. I'm petty sure no one would really notice but that's totally not the point. I got to stick of my goals and who knows I might even be head before that.

I've decided February is going to be active month of reviews. Every Wednesday will be having two review this month. I read two of the books that I planed to review; I've wrote one review and hoping to finish the other one tonight. I've started reading another ones. I was initially planning force myself to read the force myself to read the next two but I'm thinking of reading the next Vampire Academy series as I'm sort of in the mood for it and I have to eventually return the series to the library. I mean I don't want to kill myself over the reviews. If I do this I'll have reviewed all my review copy things that already out or coming out this month. There is one other book that I thought was going out this year but it was actually last year but doesn't really count as I got after I had came up with my review plan for this month. I also be one book ahead of my British Book Challenge goal of reading 50 British books and I have two weeks of leg room anyway.

I think I'm going to start doing Review Plans every month. I think it good idea cause then it won't be panicked that I'm not on top of netgalley or my book challenges. I would just like to be more organised this year in general.

My new bed came on Tuesday and my room is still not ready. There also talk of wallpapering the Wall of Damp that would be near impossible to do with the new bed built. I got to move the chest thing out of there. I've been told to just dump in my brother's room. I'm hoping to do it tomorrow, well not hoping as I really have to do.

I started a hospitality course thing that will hopefully lead to a job. I'm not really liking the course so far and it doesn't help that some of the people on it seem to think it possible to get lunch in half a hour. The more I think about it, the more I realise that I really wouldn't like a full-time job due to how much it would limit some of my plans. It would be good to have a full time job during the summer (a.k.a seasonal work). However, I'm meant to be building up a film portfolio so will I have enough time for life this summer. I'm going to be a proper student again soon (hopefully) so I won't be able to have a full time job anyway. I just feel sort of anxious of the idea going off my carer's allowance. I might not even get job so no point of thinking about it at the moment.

I guess I just like to panic myself for no real reason. That all I've got to say this week so see you in the next.

Janurary Ramblings

Heló peops, so there nothing perpendicular I want to talk about in this week. I've read 16 books so far this month (this year would be accurate too). I've brought so many books that I don't want to think about it. It's not my fault it WhSmith who sell damaged books at full price but had buy one get one half price on their graphic novels yesterday. Brought Kick-Ass and Batman so fun times a head.

Stuff that I didn't say in last week post because of having a post that actually had a point. I'm finally getting a new bed which should come Monday. My room is still not quite ready for it to be built.  I found mould on some of my books the horror, attempting to sort it out. I've been buying things I shouldn't (Here's a hint it starts with a 'B' and ends with a 'K'. I finally moved that bookcase last week, now to move the chest and then the TV. I'll have to move the camp bed out of my room.

I have to finish my room this weekend. Last night I kept knocking this bag of clothing next my bed over. I'm also sitting a top of a pile of books next to be review. The next three weeks of reviews are planned, only one week written or read but that will change soon. It nice to have a plan that falls in with my British Book Challenge.

I really need to stop buying so many books, I have like over hundred books waiting to be read and yes I've read 16 books this year but 11 of them were library or Netgalley a.k.a books that I don't actually own. Yes, some were me catching up to series I've already started and therefore saving me from actually buying them. I  just buying too many. I need to stop for a while. Maybe not stop buying books altogether more sticking to ones that I've wanted for a while.

I kinda only want to buy books by British authors or books that are being relased this year. Maybe I buy one or two books a month (I guess more if its a boxset I decided to buy but then only the boxset). Not like a number I'm allowed to spend, yes I need to save but the number of books I own unread is a issue I would like to reduce.

I plan to not get as many books from the library once I'm done with the Vampire Academy series, there's a few I want to take out as to finish a series or to try a series out that I've heard a lot about. The library does save me some money and its a good source for British books.

I'm starting this Hospiaty course on Monday which will hopefully lead to job so I have more money to save for this holiday. I hope it goes well.

My sleeping pattren as been rather weird lately. I've been trying to turn it so I'm awake during the daylight hours not much success. For instance, last night I fell asleep a 10pm and woke at 1.11am. I got back to sleep at 4 something and woke at noon from probling. It'll probably woke itself out.

I hoping to join this coleb channel but I need to film audition. I've done the main filming but need to extra bits tomorrow (realistic it will happened then) and then edit it. There's a lot of people interested.

I finished reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield in the early hours of this morning (a review will eventually appear here) so I watched the BBC Adaption. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I think a good adaption should capture the spirit of the book and I don't know if it did. There are certain changing that I really don't like.

I guess all for this week so I'll see you in the next.

Bout of Books 9.0 Read-a-thon (6th to 12th January 2014): Goals and Updates

I've decided to take part in week long Read-a-thon and for those unaware of Bout of Books:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team.

I'm just going to put my goals here.

My Goals

  • To finish reading all the books I've got currently out of the library.
  • To start the Uglies Series by Scott Westerfeld (Maybe even finish)
  • Check out the challenges, chats and that. I'm not really sure since I've never taken part in Bouts of Books before so we see.

Books to Read

  • Pawn by Aimée Carter
  • Butterfly Grave by Anne Cassidy
  • Such Wicked Intent by Kenneth Oppel
  • My Swordhand is singing by Marcus Sedgwick
  • Uglies Series (Uglies, Specials, Pretties, Extras) by Scott Westerfeld

Time Devoted to Reading

I plan to read 5 hours a day most of the week.

Updates

Monday 6.1.14 (wrote 10.58pm)
What I read today: Pawn by Aimée Carter

Total of books read today: 1
No. of books started today: None

No. of pages read today: 239 pages
Books Finished:1
Thoughts: I had a busy day and never got enough sleep yesterday so I'm happy with what I read today. However, I would like to read more tomorrow so I'm just going to call it quits early, get some proper sleep and get a good start.

Tuesday 7.1.14 (wrote 2.57 am Wednesday)

What I read today: Butterfly Grave by Anne Cassidy
Total of books read today: 1
No. of books started today:1
No. of pages read today: 212 pages
Pages read total: 451 pages
Books Finished Today: None
Total Books Finished: 1
Thoughts: I actually read less today, I was out all day and when I got home I had a five hour nap so not the best way to read. I kinda want to read a book a day so slightly disappointed with myself but I'll might make up for during the week.

Wednesday 8.1.14 (wrote 12.20am Thrusday)

What I read today: Butterfly Grave by Anne Cassidy, The 100 most Pointless Argument in the World Solved by Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman, Such Wicked Intent by Kenneth Oppel.
Total of books read today: 3
No. of books started today: 2
No. of pages read today: 670 pages
Pages read total: 1121 pages
Books Finished Today: 2
Total Books Finished: 3
Thoughts: So I made up for not finishing a book yesterday. I finished 2 books and managed to get half way through another one. I think if I keep this rate up then I should be able to finish the Uglies series (assuming I can get into it). I did push myself to finish Such Wicked Intent because began to annoy me so much and not just the fact it meant to be a prequel to Frankenstein but the characters were generally annoying and it square romance in it. I mean Triangles can be bad enough. IT GOES SO MUCH AGAINST THE CANON IT PAINS ME! Hm, em I didn't really enjoy today challenges but I think that because I read such a wide range genre that I have no perpendicular loyalty to one. In summary, a good day of reading (even if what I was reading wasn't that good).

Thursday 9.1.14 (wrote 12.05am Friday)

What I read today: The 100 most Pointless Argument in the World Solved by Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman, My Swordhand is Singing by Marcus Sedgwick, Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Total of books read today: 2
No. of books started today: 2
No. of pages read today: 419 pages
Pages read total: 1538 pages
Books Finished Today: 2
Total Books Finished: 5
Thoughts: I'm very happy with my process so far if I keep this pace up I can finish the Uglies series and maybe get another book in.

Friday 10.1.14 (wrote 12.14am Saturday)

What I read today: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld, Petties by Scott Westerfeld
Total of books read today: 2
No. of books started today: 1
No. of pages read today: 512 pages
Pages read total: 2050 pages
Books Finished Today: 1
Total Books Finished:6
Thoughts: Petty certain I'll finish the Uglies series, not sure about another book after that. I forgot that I'm going to see a 3 hour long film tomorrow (Yes, its the second Hobbit film). So hopefully finish Petties and started on Specials before I leave to see it.

Saturday 11.1.14 (wrote 12.44am Sunday)

What I read today:Petties by Scott Westerfeld, Specials by Scott Westerfeld
Total of books read today: 2
No. of books started today: 1
No. of pages read today: 356 pages
Pages read total: 2406 pages
Books Finished Today: 1
Total Books Finished:7
Thoughts: Not a lot of reading done today, but going to see the Desolation of Smaug took away almost four hours worth of reading so it not surprising that today wasn't as good. I think I probably have finished 'Specials' if it hadn't been for that. I'm tempted to just read into the night now.

Sunday 12.1.14 (wrote 12.am 13.)

What I read today:Specials by Scott Westerfeld, Extras by Scott Westerfeld, Name on your wrist by Helen Hiorns
Total of books read today: 3
No. of books started today: 2
No. of pages read today: 444 pages
Pages read total: 2850 pages
Books Finished Today: 2
Total Books Finished:9
Thoughts: To be honest I spent a lot time thinking about reading. I was kinda fed up with the Uglies series so I finished Specials and got 50 pages into Extras before giving up and read The Name of your Wrist which was alright. The ending isn't very satisfying.

Overall Thoughts: I enjoyed this Readathon, took part in most of the challenges. I did up feeling a tad fed up but that might be part in with reading the Uglies book after book. I think next time I would have some separate if I ever try read full series in a readathon again. I did finish the Trilogy, if not all the books in the series. Well, I'm happy with the amount I read through.

I'm taking part of Mount TBR Challegne this year. I will be aiming for a  Mt. Kilimanjaro (60 books from
