To Be Writing Again.

I've been listening to a lot of music and writing again, its all thanks to Hannibal and Hannibal vampire AU fanfiction. I would like more Hannibal vampire but instead of writing that, I will work on my own abandoned fiction. Yes, it's Dance Hall I'm working on. It still lives...for now.

It has an actual plot now...sort of. Don't expert chapters, if you've been lurking on here for years, desperate for the ending. Well, it never had ending till now. That's right I have written the ending. I know how this book definitely ends.

I have started writing a sequel. Ideas of conversation come to me more than the plot of the book. I just want to discuss the morality of vampires, and sometimes that morality can only be discussed with a character that doesn't belong in the first book.

The middle of the first book is empty and I will need a big rewrite. The rewrite is pointless without having that middle figured out. I have an idea of things that going to happen. I have a rough family tree, though, there are several characters I need to name and possible rename. I have a character called Lix and I don't know if that was an actual name or random letters that I assigned to that character.

I have two applications to fill in that ask me questions that should be easy to answer but don't want to leave my brain. It asks my recently favourite TV show. I keep a note of all the shows I've watched and I know it's Hannibal. I was even writing random essays notes about the show before I was asked that question and now I have no thoughts.

Asking my least favourite being hard at least make sense because I didn't finish watching those episodes. Of the things I did finish watching, the Alienist season 2 was my least favourite. Part of me is tempted to go with the non-fiction stuff I watched recently since that most likely the most relevant to the thing I'm applying for. Maybe one of each.

I do watch non-fiction, it's just random cooking/baking shows...and true crime. I mean watched a TV true-crime documentary today. It wasn't very good, but it was made to accompany a TV dramatisation so it was never meant to be a standalone thing.

These things shouldn't be hard, as I write constantly about things I like and dislike. I criticise and write the reasons. I know why I like things but put in words where someone will definitely read it. That is hard in my brain.

Hannibal is good in it's shooting and casting. The hash light is great, I love it.
Hannibal is good in the writing it steals from Harris. The adapting is interesting.
Hannibal is bad in that the final season, is actually 2 seasons split into one.
Hannibal is bad because the lack of character and relationship developments in the first season while trying to tell us Abby is important (which probably because there's nothing to adapt Abby from beside her first scene). Yeah, Will, Hannibal and Jack Crawford are the stars, but more has to be done than daughter surrogacy. There's not even a scene between Abigal and Will while discussing Will being too close to her.
Hannibal is bad in that doesn't understand that a character saying something, rather than thinking of them changes that meaning.
Hannibal is bad in that its showrunner doesn't understand tropes but tries to address to them. Someone tell Bryan Fuller that Fridging is where you kill a woman for the sake of a man's development, not about violence being done to woman in general. Fridging is a very specific trope and there are websites dedicated to explaining that trope.
Hannibal is good in it's a rom-com where a cannibal convinces an FBI professor to run away off with him and somehow convinces the audience (me) while watching it that was the best option for everyone, except Jack Crawford, but Jack has played loose with the lives and mental state of those he leads so Jack can lose this one.

See I can write about it. There's a word I want, but I can't find it in my head enough to even go hunting for it. Maybe it will come to me.

The other thing I'm applying for is more insane but I don't want to talk about it.
I'm going to write about things, like a book I didn't like much.

Postponed Murder

Going through the process of re-watching childhood nostalgia. 'Murder, She Wrote' and 'Lilo and Stich' the TV series. One is definitely more entertaining than the other to re-watch as an adult. I've been watching 'Lilo and Stitch' as background noise while I'm trying to go to sleep or play a game. Definitely, not something that can hold my full attention again. I don't think I had ever watched the full series, definitely all the films at one point.

Murder, She Wrote is nostalgic because it was always on before or after CBBC section was on. With Diagnose Murder as well. I think Murder she wrote was on before and then Diagnosed Murder and maybe it was on BBC Two and would switch between them during the bad kid shows.

Got more into Bullet Journalling, started a TV/Film one to document my splints and my Film watching project. So far it's just TV ones but I plan to add my Film watching project. Not going that great because a lot of them are impossible to find. I have started a LetterBoxd account. I still keep a Bujo note of the films I watch but it might be good as a digital one when I don't the immediate time to document in my Bullet Journal.

Eurovision should have been tonight. I missed the start (17 minutes) of Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light On, I was too caught up on murder. I'll probably download and watch incase it was something decent I missed. Probably not much if it's pasted winners singing in their gardens.  I wonder if Junior Eurovision will happen in November.

I never go why people complained about Australia being in Eurovision when Israel has been in and clearly not being in Europe for years and being an awkward sticking point.

This is depressing. I wish they had shown the songs on the TV instead of doing a Livestream on YouTube. Our song was called 'My Last Breath'. That's depressingly fitting.

I'm now doing six things at once. Watching TV, Knitting, reading and Writing. Successfully, not really. I have too many things to do at once all the time. So I'm off to find another project somehow.

League of Sherlock (When fandom go insane)

This week has been bad as my poor cat Glasgow has been in pain since Wednesday and is the vet right down. They have to drain his blander several times Been having thoughts about whether fate can be that cruel.

So I have been sitting on my Sherlock thoughts on this blog in favour of actually posting, instead of writing six thousand words essay about on critical nature of fandom. I had thought about doing an actual video but new tinhat stuff is happening all the time and I am a slow video editor.

The Sherlock fandon have decided to prove their insanity by claiming their secret 4th episode of the 4th season. This would be awesome and could make sense, but BBC. The BBC doesn't have the money for that and there's no reason for them to have a secret ep. The thing I do feel kinda bad for Mofftiss in that they wrote an episode so terrible that people immediately thought fake when it was leaked, then after being officially broadcast, then the fandom really got behind this idea. I liked the final episode as whole but it stands up to no scrutiny at all which the fandon of a crime show is likely to do. The writing has not been great this series. All my criticism is with the writing, it major problem this series.

Skip to the last two paragraphs/non-white text if you don't want spoilers for the Series 4 of 'Sherlock':
To start with ep 1 was utterly pointless and is full of filler. I was mostly bored throughout of it. It also felt like stuff was being backtracked in it, the the initials thing does not seem like the end game of the USB which is odd considering they knew they were getting two more series and good writers should know what's going on with their characters even if it never reveal, it keeps motivation relevant. Then Mary dies in the most boring and utterly pointless way without being interesting at at all. She should have been hit by a black cab at the start of ep 1 and then have the plot of ep.2 in one and then we could have another actual case instead of Boredom. The thing is Mary was a character destined to die. As soon as John married her, she was dead. Ep 1 is my least favourite because of this and adds nothing to the series plot other than the death of Mary and there's is no case because it only covers stuff that's actually been covered.

Ep 2 is the best of this series, but it comes no where to being my favourite ep of the series as whole. I like the cinematography, the case is a bit insane, but both John and Sherlock are insane at this point in time so it works. Mrs Hudson is also confirmed as a bad arse in this ep something we all knew. The cliffhanger ending is more like the usual finale of Series we got use to with Sherlock where at least of one of the boys is doomed to die. How will they get out of it?

By coping out of it, of course. Like I said I liked this episode but I also hate it for legit reasons. If you're a fan of League of Gentlemen (LoG) then you will get so many kicks out of this. Probably because the opening is more like like an ep of LoG than it is of Sherlock. Maybe that is kinda a bad thing. Then we get references of Mycroft having had played a woman and if you have watched LoG then you know that Gatiss makes a strangely attractive women, then we see Mycroft dressed up in a fake beard and teeth making me think a certain Butcher and his mystery meat.

This epideo (I give up on spelling the word 'episode' right) was big up as being "history making" and "ground-breaking" hence why people thought Johnlock might be a thing (maybe the Russian dub leaking was meant to be a warning that gay was not going to happen).  Of course, I never believed this because its a BBC cash cow. They also was a promotion saying Sherlock is Love which brings us to my "no. Just no." scene. I hate the scene with Molly. I generally dislike Molly as a character because of how she has not developed in 7 yrs past being love with a person who doesn't really know and he has never played attention to her except when she usefully to him. I find her to be pathetic and would have been happy to see her blow up except that she realistically the one watching the baby. Who does has baby Watson? What was the point of the scene, but to piss people off?

I don't get people who ship Molly and Sherlock other than forcing heterosexuality on everyone. I feel uncomfortable when the show actually does this, because their early ques were always gay or asexual and the character is canonically either these things as established by his women hating (I have theories as on how I'm justified in not letting this ruin Sherlock Holmes for me. Er, Victorians). The scene adds nothing to the series and Molly is not enough of a character for me to care. If she had died, then it would have proved stakes but she doesn't so there are none for anyone and nothing matters. Characters we just met don't really count.

I had a conversation with a straight male. He said he didn't see Johnlock but he also said "John was infatuated with Sherlock". I of course pointed out that meant love (a form of one I guess, it seen as sexual thing anyway). I guess this is proof people ignore cues of gay when they're not interesting in seeing them. Did Mofftiss write them on purpose? One half of them is gay, so which is they non-queerbaiting case kinda dies as they must have know what cues they were giving to the watcher.

I used to defend Sherlock as not being Queerbaiting as it was just addressing the "gayness" of the canon which being Victorian can be read as sexual tense between Watson and Holmes or Watson has a giant man crush on Holmes. After The Empty House story I read it as hella gay. Back to Sherlock, Friendships are more important than romantic love and it would be nice to have show just built on platonic love, except it wrote more like a romance. Maybe Mofftiss just have no idea how to write beautiful friendships, therefore fall back on the way they would write romance.

It doesn't help that as viewers we have been taught to read good chemistry as romance. Real life friendships/like of each other as people, makes for good fake romantic chemistry. Surprisingly, real life romantic couple make for horrible chemistry on screen. Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch have decent chemistry therefore we read it as romance on screen.

I think the main thing everyone one forgets in the fandon is that we are watching alternative universe fanfiction that is somehow funded by the BBC.Therefore, having a series final that backtracks the whole show and contradicts major plot points of the previous series shouldn't be shocking. We are in the crack session that many good fanfiction falls into after several sequels/series. The secret sister is such a tropes that goes back to make John look hella gay again, because John had been sexting (god, why?) his best friend's sister, in fanfiction that makes him in love with Sherlock.

The big reveal that Redbeard was a human all along is dumb. Super dumb. Its dumb as having a secret sister locked in a prison that didn't exist last series. We will ignore what a contradiction this dog boy brings up, because that's not the main reason why its dumb. Its not an escalation. Your sister killing your dog best friend, does not read as being worse than killing your human best friend. It just makes the viewer go "WHAT?" or "what? that doesn't make any sense. Why no police in that woods then?" In neither of those surrandos am I ever talking to her again. If any of my sister killed the puppy I've only had for two week by drowning her in a well and giving me a riddle to find the puppy, that sister is dead to me.

I also hate the sister things, because underlying message that Sherlock is the way he is because of his sister being psychotic. In this backtrack, we get on to ableist territory. Basically, Mofftiss have planted themselves in a landmine field and I think we should leave them for a while. There is probably a idiot out they arguing it feminist for Sherlock to be define by a female character, but it just bullshit writing and 'Sherlock' cannot be argue as being anything near a feminist show after they turn The Woman into a love interest for Sherlock and has to be saved by him instead of getting one over him.

The plane thing was immediately fake. It becomes clear that it can't be happening in the same time as the challenges because planes do not just stay in the air if no one is flying them. They go down. So that wasn't a fakeout really, but Sherlock should have seen it as fake. She was in unmanned plane for hours with no turbulence.

The montage at the end sucks. Lestrade's line is really forced, no one talks like that, that whole conversation is so awkward so that they can have that quote mangled in. Mary narration is odd too. Its meant to be a message for John (and Sherlock?), but she talks about them as if she doesn't know them personally. It obviously meant to be a finale. This is bad, don't do finale with Watson and Holmes. They just keep going so don't cap your show unless its with beekeeper Sherlock (who lives forever in my mind with Watson buried in the flowerbed). Also the last words of 'Sherlock' is currently 'Baker Street Boys'. Further proof that Mofftiss have been reading the fanfiction of their own show. Super dumb.

To be honest, I have started to believe the insanity that a fourth ep will play tomorrow instead of Apple Tree Yard, despite that being a very real thing that doesn't even have the same run length as Sherlock. Probably not. Was gonna watch Apple Tree Yard anyway as I own the book, but I am nowhere near having the motivation to actually read it. Ads for adaptation usually make me want to read the book, not this case. Maybe that's a sign. Oh, well I have nothing better to do (okay, I have tons of better things to do, but will I bother to those things?)

That's my mess of review of 'Sherlock'. Now and I'm off to write ten thousands word essay on why Elementary is the worst thing I have ever seen and hiding Leia Sherlock away from my sister.

Doctor Who Perfection (and more tedious life things)

Oh, my god. Doctor Who was perfect. Well, not perfect. There are few things I take fault with actually. But the ending was perfect. I watched it in 3D which was slight panic doing as I just couldn't figure out how to put it in the right mode. It was mainly difficult because my tv has two remotes for some reason. Turns out that there was just a button to press on one of them. It was rather confusing. So I technically  watched it minute behind everyone else with the whole over 75 countries worth watching thing. It looked good in 3D though. It actually added something to it, it wasn't just a gimmick. It was rather cool with a random dalek randomly shooting out of people.
It was really good episode, yes they were faults, things I would have prefer not to be in the episode at all. SPOILER ALERT: I was so glad that Rose Fucking Tyler was not in the damn thing. I hate her so much, I would rather have another companion have been the interface thing but at least she wasn't actually in it. Frankly, she came back far too many times for someone meant to be trapped in another dimension. Queen Elisabeth the English twat was far too petty looking. I mean she wasn't even TV ugly. Elisabeth was historical hideous. I also she rather boring historian figure. She a woman, but so was her crazy arse sister who went around killing Protestants and then Elizabeth did the obvious smart thing of not marrying the King of Spain who having been married to her sister and spent most of the marriage in another country from his wife. Wow, she wasn't an idiot. She just had really lucky rule. That's enough before this turns into a proper rant of some form.
A few things that happened this week that are worth a mention. I mean my life doesn't revolved around Doctor Who *Laughs awkwardly* someday the Doctor will come for me. *Clears throats* Moving. I did  a tiny bit of my room by moving the bed temporally back to its old location, in front of my new bookcase, so now I kinda can lay my head on the books. I could now just move the long bookcase to the other side of the bed and I'll be surrounded by books when I sleep. Though, it be as awkward to get in and out of as it was moving it and the long bookcase is going to be bitch to move too which will evenualy have to happen.
This week has been another sleeply fest. I missed two days of that Team course thing due to sleeping through  my alarm. So fucking tired lately, I am actually sleeping at proper times. I'm also sleeping past my alarm, unable to leave my bed till noon. It just my body is just being awkward again. My leg been going numb move often again. I guess I'll just have to live with it.
I had this interview thing for this hospitality course. To cut the story short I did not get on the course which is disappointing but not devastating. Oh, well life goes on and this means I can go back to my original plan of sleeping my days away once this Prince's Trust course is over.
Okay, I guess it wasn't eventfully week and I can't be arsed to actually talk about what going on with the Prince's Trust course thing as it rather lack muster at the moment which might be a reason why I can't get out of bed for it. Motivation is usefully to have on cold, Scottish morning. I'm going to  Christmas Festive in Glasgow tomorrow so I probably talk about that next week. Bye Losers.

Where the hell is a phone?

Something thats been bugging me lately is that Phone booths are gone from the streets. I honesty think there's still a need for them. I'm not saying a great one. However, I've been in situations where I've really needed one, but none are anyway to be found.

I know most people have mobile phones now a days, but they can so easily go wrong. Who hasn't lost their phone, had the battery died, or simply left it in the house?

I left my phone on the bus, on my first day of college and annoyingly I couldn't contract my parents to inform them of this (and something else, forget), no phone booths could be found. It also kinda sad that there's not a need for a British iconic and superman now has no where to change. Whats he going to do, spin around really fast? Yeah, I think not.

Okay, I just want to share that thought before my little talk about what I've been up. The party last week was okay, really didn't like the DJ. I still very much still prefer to read about a party than going to one. I got my bursay which has meant I've been spending money, bit too much
.
However, most of this money has went somewhere usefully, such as my new bookcase. Lovely thing. Also more books....always need books. Clothes as well. Finally, got Nightmare before Christmas; so odd that I didn't own that yet. Then again it is on TV a lot.

Thinking of getting a Kindle, which has apparently turned into me getting a Kindle Fire HD, not bought it yet, but it is a likely possibility. Might be my christmas present to myself. I just don't know.

Generally, off to do important stuff such as college work and my personal statement. At this very moment, I'm off to bed.

Doctor Who thoughts as they happened.

GOD, Doctor Who makes me giggly. Watching it as I type. What with the orange opening? Queen Nefertiti is the best Queen of Egypt ever.  This is probably going to be rather random to begin with. Dinosaurs in space, isn't that like a little boy's fantasy. I would say kid except I wasn't that much into either as a kid.
LOL, Squeaky voice robots fantastic.Oh I know those voices, I love both those voices.

The Earth Lizard people are back.  I don't imagine a (can't think of the name of this) Dinosaur licking someone like a dog. I like Rory's dad better than Rory, its so sad when children go up...can't think of the right word. Everyone knows the Doctor is more like a PhD doctor than a medical one.

Eleven is really growing on me. At first I wasn't sure of him, I thought he would be better than nine who I did not like at all, but he's much better. Though, Ten will always be my Doctor.

The Doctor doesn't have a value, he's priceless. But definitely not worthless.

"Don't ever judge me by your standards" He probably stole that off someone. I'm now stealing that.

Robots are funny, as expected. "They've stolen a dinosaur." "I see that."

Gay kiss, well just give the fangirls what they're want then Doctor.

Oh, not the doggy Dinosaur *weeps dramatically*

Lestrade is all I can think about.

Ew, old man. No one likes a creepy rapist trying it on with a several thousand year old Queen. Nefi could definitely take him anyway. So could anyone he is on crunches after all and rather dimwitted.

Ha, I saw that coming didn't I?

Aw, who doesn't want to see their home from space. And Earth is rather petty. Thats amusing and sweet ending.

Next week Cowboys. These writers are such boys.

I'm off to annoy my best friend, I tell about my (our) Sherlock problem next week.
