A Date by Myself

I am once again far from home. Home being my Laptop. I have been dragged to Glasgow and abandoned to wander alone. Sibling is on a date and I’m drinking two Costa drinks; sitting alone in the YA section of Waterstones. So of course, I am perfectly happy.

I haven’t properly worked on my creative writing this week. Nor have I been reading. Or editing. Nothing as usual. I think my biggest problem right now is that I know how terrible my writing is. It is frustrating to have to send terrible writing for feedback knowing what’s already wrong with it. In theory I should be able to write a brilliant story, knowing what makes one, but nothing pours out my fingers when I go to write.

I have tons of ideas. I’ve been having complete story dreams again. I just can’t get those ideas out of my head. Frankly, I am terrible. Writers’ Block might not be a thing but not producing anything of value is a serious problem.

Of course, maybe I am just being too critical of myself (and possibly everyone else). I haven’t read a really good book in a while. I find fault in all. I’ve always been a critical little shit and now that applies to my own writing. I don’t feel I’ve improved in years. My best work is four years old and I’m starting to see the issues with that.

I would just like a story to come out formed instead of stilted and unworkable. I got a low B for Creative Writing and I think that I was lucky to get that. I will probably post those stories here, as there are too bad to do anything else with.

I bet you think I should just shut up and write. That maybe my problem is that I am expecting to find gold in a dried up river instead digging it out of the mountain. Cursing every black rock and throwing them away rather than polishing them to gleam gold. Well, I feel like I am polishing them to nothing.

I have no solution for this issue but to try and write out of it. It doesn’t seem to be working. Like I said I think everyone is terrible; at least I’m still grouping myself with published, best selling, acclaimed and award winner writers. I’m pretty sure the issue is with me.

On brighter news, my car has been fixed. Turns out I’ve been driving a death trap for over a month. The coil spring had broke in front right wheel and it had gotten into the steering and scraped a bolt as well. I went on the motorway several times with it like that. Probably happen in a pothole, which is not surprising as someone has dug up giant holes on the road I drive to get home. Also speed bumps are the devil. Don’t even work. Some mental risked death this week by spending hours going up and down a walking path on a scooter or something. Many threaten death. I just cursed him with fake magic.

I have finished both my drinks. This is a good moment to end this post of self wore. I am now going to find a book to read on the train home.

Update: I accidentally posted this twice due to bad internet. To match my two drinks I suppose.

Trapped by Books

Life has been calmly ciatic. I have a large list of things I have to do and as the others have a definite deadline. Of course, I often find myself doing nothing and just laying in the briss of stress building. I feel like I don't have a day off any more. I have to read stuff and write things for class while moving.

Put the reviewing stuff on top of that. I have no time to read the stuff I want to read. While I want to read the books I request for review, they feel like a tour and stress me out to get it done. This doesn't need put me in the best mood when reading them and I don't think they get a fair review. Basically, weekly book reviews have to stop for now. I have idea of how to replace them that would take less time while inflecting my opinions on to the world but I don't want to make promises.

Reviews are something I like doing. However, there have been a struggle to write recently. There also not a priority. I want to create my own stuff even if contains some of the issues I would criticise in a review. Though, first drafts are for mistakes and to be criticise by everyone.

To summarise the reviews will come when I have time and when they ready instead of wrote in a rush the night before or lied about when I posted them. There could be big gaps during this month as I am moving and therefore have no weekends.

I spent today moving stuff into the house and will spend tomorrow doing the same thing. I want to make the most of my education and do other career stuff. The weekly random posts still stand and I will continue to work on the novel. I am still working on it but there's not enough to make a chapter and I will at least post complete chapter even not having a full idea how our story will get to its last point.

I will write to next week with something. I might do writing prompts that can be completed in a hour if I'm working on the novel but it's not happy to show itself off.

2016 Goals

This is the ways I should do this year maybe.
  1. Read 52 books or the same number I buy. I want to go back to reading at least a book a week as I think this is the best thing for me.
  2. Finish 10 book series. Same reasons as last year. I still own to many and they are lots I want to finish.
  3. To lower my To Be Read in all senses. Don't spend as much on books. Get that number down to something that isn't so horrifying. It's at 458 as I type. I would say go year without buying any books but that would take away all my fun, so I can some options. Just not 102 again, please.
  4. Read a comic a day till caught up. I am majorly behind my comics and I would like to change this. This would last me a while if I did it literally.
  5. Stop being dumb with money. I should budget for what I have and stop making a game of paying my credit card. I would like a job, but that's just not in my cards at the moment. I need another income so feel free to pay me for my talents (whatever they actually are).
  6. Write. This blog was to make sure I wrote every week, but it just doesn't feel like enough effect anymore. Maybe my posts need to be more structured. Maybe I should stop doing posts where I say nothing about nothing. I might start posting creative work every week no matter how bad or unfinish it is. Just so I do stuff instead of nothing.
  7. Edit footage instead of sitting on it for years. I feel interesting stuff then never do anything or abandoned video ideas I that I feel that need to be done or give up on before I even look at the footage.
  8.  Write a script and then make it. I have no excuse not to do this. I mean I find a lot of the class work creativity limiting so this would be at my level and I've just got to do these things.
  9. Stop doing stuff the night before, then the whole doing work making me tired wouldn't be such  an issue and  might fix the whole insomnia/weird sleeping patterns I keep issue as well.
  10.  Actually finish the Stranger or whatever. One of my novel things anyway.
10 is a nice number for this year. There's other stuff I should work on but I guess in terms of being happy and realistic, this is the stuff I should focus on.  See you loser next year where we see if I'm the winner or failer. Also next week for stuff.

First Chapters

I started writing The Novel, but I don't haven't put the bones together right. They all there, but the first chapter doesn't seem right and I want the first chapter to be right, because I can weak weeks in between that story. But that the first chapters need to dawn you in and hook you.

How stories start are important. Not as important as the endings or the entre worth of the middle. Because whilst the middle can be a bit wonky when you have decided to write a novel on a week to week basis for the internet. My novel will not be perfect. It will not proofread and I am a dyslexic who misses words in her sentences and writes the completely wrong word sometimes. I have literally, not noticed the wrong word for years. It why I always say in my "About"s that I'm dyslexic because I am doomed to make grammar and spelling mistakes more than a non-neurodivergent person (which it a term I like because it has "divergent" in it, but also because my things are numbers and it is still fun to mindboggle people).

The plot will very go off the rails. The characters might secretly build forts and not tell me about them till  over half way in. It will be thing that should be edited because I don't even have plan or proper ending to work to. I have a idea that want expand. We see where it goes.

I'm starting uni soon and it has stuck up upon me like most things in life that know are on its way. They are only two days left in August. The schools are back. The lease for my accommodation is only a week from starting.

I went to do a test for Autism yesterday. The person asked me how I would feel if I wasn't autistic. I don't think I answer honestly at the moment, because the truth is that be a tiny bit soul crushing after all this time not to own that label anymore, to have find another one to explain myself to the world. It's been almost three years since I finally stumbled on to Selective Mutism and then Autism, with the Aspergers linking so much to me. I would probably cry if a team of expects said I was not. I might cry either way. I like to cry with what ever emotions I'm feeling. Expect happiness, it would be relief I would feel.

She asked me to explain happiness. The only thing I could think was a lack of physical impact. Stress takes me by my throat and chest. Sadness makes me numb and wanting to cry at lot for no reason. Though, I think it's good to cry sometimes, the stress it relief is brilliant when you've been saving it and something fictional burst it. It easier to cry over things that don't matter to the life you live and can't touch your space, no matter how relatable the characters or the story is, which I love it when Cat Clarke has a new book to stab me with, because I needed the cried over characters that feel real but I know will be fine because fictional characters will always exist in a state of being fine, because you can find the page where they are.

Humans are not books, so our pages get lost, which is why nostalgia is thing even when we know things were actually great as a whole. If humans were books, we would all be massive series. I think my current book is ending and that's terrifying.

I am going to uni. No matter where I am next year, in whatever state with different labels and emotions always bubbling, new things will happen to me. I have paid a deposit, I will pay rent, I will budget for my life  with failures I'm sure. I feel prepared. I know I will do one dumb thing, one thing I'll probably regret and I will have to live with strangers who hopefully will not all be that in a months time. I carry expectations of failures because I am human and I learn to add it as writing material. However, I also carry knowledge that this is a path I chosen for myself. I have stumbled along the path given to me for the majority of my life. I have chosen what I'm going to do, not be limited with what it local or what my parents thought was best.

I am going to study and learn how to make films. I think I might be good. I think that I'm secretly aggrato and confident about my ability to make things. I'm a decent writer, I know I can do it better than other people, on several topics and themes so that something. I accept the basery that I have something of value to add to films. If I do it, that be up to me to keep walking and see what in the woods.

I'm currently reading a book that ends with a prologue and the characters are off to uni. It made me think about my own thing. I am getting ready and leave, to never come back to this position. That's scary no matter how bad I wanted, no matter how long I've been planning.

I don't write with a plan because most of my plans get thrown out the window, some stick to the glass or the flame in somewhere. This will time it gets stuck. I think I should go before I start spurting about more purple pose about my life and thoughts. I will find out the autistic thing in month time at the soonest, that pretty quick to compared to how long it took me to get here. If it is a no, that will just another long battle. I'm so stick of battles. I think I might have a illness (not life threatening) but at this moment the idea to even attempt to find out, just sounds exhausting after the Autistic wait that's not over yet and who knows if the soldiers will be home for Christmas in that war (I don't know who the soldiers are in this metaphor, I want to the use the reference that says it might not be over so soon (knock wood)). I can only wege so many wars and I preparing for another one.

Though, hopefully I will gain some allies for this one.

Do you want to build a Novel?

Hello peops, I went to the Scottish Natural Galley of Modern Art One and Rosslyn Chapel. I now want to do an art heist in which I steal 'In the car' by Roy Lichtenstein and touch his Lilly ponds (don't). I also hide the Picassos and write fictional characters on the wall of names. We give the painting back fifteen years later. But only ever send  ransom note every year hinting where the Picassos are, even after they're found. If caught, say we Scottish and therefore the painting belongs to us. It was inspired me to do more art and then we went to Rosslyn Chapel and sketching out the craving made me remember that I get wrist strain over nothing and that's why I gave up the dream of art. Also other stuff.

Anyway:

I was tempted to put more of Nail Polish in a Video Store up today but then I realise that I want to keep that to myself for awhile or maybe forever. Though, I was thinking it might be a good idea to start writing novel for this blog alone and putting it up in parts. Right now the Ballroom short story keeps calling to me to add to it. I shall eventually subcome to it. I have a few ideas but none have any clear ending or plot structure so if I do it, it will be free for all.

There is actually a lot of potential first parts of novels lurking on this blog or stories that were meant to have a second part, that was never written and probably will never be wrote. Well, not by me anyway.

Some of those things are:

I also realised that have relationships of the girl being down right hostile to the boy but the boy still liking her, which he sadly realistic.

So I'm not giving you a short story this week, but asking you the question of. Is there any of these or any of my other stories that you would like to see more of? I will have something written for next week, though I'm not sure what it will be. It meant be related, it might be random horror as making a film next week and one way or another it will end up horrifying (especially, if I'm made to act in it).

I'm only writing in my head.

It is once again Saturday, How? I feel like I have done nothing this week, I wrote very little and I haven't took proper account so once again I have failed Camp NaNoWriMo and myself. I always have such great plans but the more I push myself to do I fail. I've hardly been reading as well, for me, it would appear that I finished reading two books but one of those was audiobook.

I have been trying audiobooks again in attempt to get more stuff done and exercise. That hasn't been that successfully. On the first attempt at walking and that, I scraped the skin off the back of both my ankle and I haven't walked again. Yes, I'm just refusing to leave my bed. Of course, I have walked around the house and left for the supermaket. The skin has started to grow back so I should try walking in just a form of exercise soon, next week or month.

I'm generally a fail at 21. Let's all remember that when I'll probably say it about being 22, unless I get really productive or discovered. The chances are slim on both.

I'm annoyed by the fact I let writing slip, I'm annoyed I've done so little, I'm annoyed that I suck at driving and I think I might be getting worse. I am terrible.

I'm filled with stories that I want to get out. I am filled with ambitions that I wanted to get out and as of last week I have failed to have my posts up on time for the first time this year and this will be the second. Words do come to me in time. Probably because I don't force them on to the paper/scene even when they are terrible.

I'm going to go now and pretend to tidy my room, or knit a complicated mess whilst attempting to read at the same time. See you next week, hopefully on time.

Hiding in the Camp Woods

I am a failure as a writer and I have fallen behind in Camp NaNoWriMo. I am so much a failure that I almost completely forgot about this post and this will probably the most I write today. I'm in behind in my book commits to myself. My reading has fallen behind and I actually forgot about Wednesday till it was 2pm and I was in a public garden. I only have one written waiting in the wings incase I degert to read review book that week. I have three other Netgalley books that I read and for some reason never got around to reviewing that I could write a small review about. However, the pass three weeks have had pre-written reviews go up and I don't like that, even if one of those was from forgetting to change the scheduled date.

I was planning to finish one of the two short stories I started but that was totally not happening. The latest one is turning into a novelle and a series. The first one has lost it spark but I'm determine to finish a least one thing in this month and I will share it with you or maybe I'll just give you chapter two to Video store or chapter six for some reason. I have apparently wrote nothing today which just great.

I have finished reading "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas, that's going to get a review but not sure I can put that up next week or not as some people like two weeks and others three before a review goes up but then again I also now have the physical copy of it that I brought from Waterstones so it's probably going up next week. I spent way too much time this morning trying to take a good selfie with it.

I have nothing else to say so I'm off to waste time staring at random things on the internet instead of doing anything even close to productive.

Talkie Talkie Time with Noname

Hello guys, no story this week because I just wanted to talk to you about life and stuff. Stuff can be interesting.

I'm still taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo with a novel instead of short stories. Though, I have calmed down a lot. The words poured out of me but I have just been dipping slowly from me. I might take a break from Video Tapes and I'm also just keeping referring to that novel with different names. I think the big problem that it has no real plot and the characters ain't distinctive enough from each other. I keep telling myself that it can be fix with editing if I'm still enamoured with this book by the end of the month. As of today, I'm still ahead of 50,000 word goal, with 19,221 words written in total. 18,562 words being from the novel.

The thing is that yes, today isn't over, but I've only wrote 750 words today, which is bad because for most days I have not been writing at least 2000 words, not even 1,667 words that meant to be my average. This is a worry as I'm spending three days filming something with the YFMC for six hours a day and I wrote okay when I was doing the three hour day but I know me and if I'm not writing now, I won't be on those days. If guys are interested in how I'm doing then you can find my novel stats on my Camp NaNoWriMo profile. I might do another short story to break up my funk or I'm just going to start throwing vampires into my novel.

By the Bye, I made the twitter that the main character runs in the novel where she mocks the company she works for:

I have also been negating my Journal as I almost never finished writing an entry into it in one sitting. There was like a month where I wrote nothing even though I had thoughts I wanted to noted down and to express to the void. Lot of odd dreams not recorded.

Friday's video on my BookTube channel didn't go up, purely on the fact I couldn't be arsed to edit till Friday morning where I had a driving lesson. Also Monday's video is currently 30 minutes long because I don't feel like editing it into one video which it should be as I switch between two topics. It should maybe be three.

In terms of procrastination and what I've been watching. I've recently watched all of Brickleberry,  Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, started rewatching Courage the Cowardly Dog that it turns out I have seen the whole first series which unusual for shows you watched as a kid as there causally always one you've missed. I also started back on my quest to watch all the Are You Afraid of the Dark? I'm on to like the 5th episode of the seventh and last season so I be finished soon. May I just say that the last season starts weird with this three part story that revolves around the Midnight Society that seems more like it should have been the series finale, but someone messed up the run order. It also would have been better if there had got more of the actual original Midnight Society involved rather than just Gary and his brother's friends. Though, they probably weren't thinking in terms of the whole series and just the mini-reboot.

I'm still learning to drive and I'm still doing dumb stuff when doing it. I put too much gas on before changing gear but I have almost conjured roundabouts and heisting at junctions. Almost. Though, I could be doing them better in my own car.

The only thing left to discuss is the creative thing I did with others, which was claymation video. We all made our own characters and then came up with a story to match these characters. It ended up being a video game motif which is funny as there is a video game that was made using claymation. Having us make our characters without guidance was problematic as the characters were all different sizes and the main one was bigger than everyone else being getting her to fit in shot was hard. The characters were diverse. Some were humans, unicorn elephants, vegetable Star Wars parody, dragons from a volcano world and Mrs Vegetable Man. This is my favourite as it's is in love with female mermaid and the Mrs indicates he's a woman and there is a lot of last names with man in them. Kids didn't make the connect that we have a queer character in there by accident. He's at least intersex. He also started life as just a carrot creature. I filmed bits and bobs to document what we were up to and it's was edited and is on YouTube and I might do more of that this summer. Nope, you don't get to see it.

I kinda want to take over their YouTube channel as it needs work on a basic level and I want to make it more pleasing on a basic level.

As for my character, I went for the horror look and out of laziness. I got far too much for praise for the level of effect I put in. I did put some effect in but her design was from ease and influence by other people's styles. Also I'm doing work next to school kids when I'm old and have a art Higher. I actually just started adding to my set out of boredom and trying to make the perfect tree. In terms of my character info and stuff: she doesn't speak, has no name, she timeless, she is a tree creature and lives in forest.

That's all for this week, enjoy the horror of my set till we meet again next week.

Farewell.

Novel thing: Nail Polish in a Video Store

Hello guys, I promised you a new bit of fiction and here it is. I'm doing Camp NaNoWriMo again, hopefully I'll be able to complete it properly and wrote this from a prompt from Awesome Writing Prompts on Tumblr. If you look through them then you could probably guess what prompt this is and what element is currently missing from the story. It's a work in process so I'm not sure how long it will be by time its finished, but let's label it a short for now as it what I intend to write for this Camp NaNoWriMo.
Nail Polish in a Video Store

I sat in what had to be one of the last video stores in the world, painting my nails black to match the mood the store gave me. I couldn’t complain, it was a job until this place finally closed down or I left for uni, which was in three months time. I couldn’t decide which was most likely to happen first. Every day (except Tuesdays) I expected to show up for work, only to be told that store was finally closed, my manager Tulisa in tears despite the years of warning.

Tulisa cries over everything: me getting a job here, me applying for uni, me getting into uni, Ted managing to get a job at the local supermarket. Now, that was reliable work. I had tried and failed to get a summer job there.

I’m certain I only got a job here because I was the only one who applied. My main evidence was from the fact that we had yet to replace Ted and a “Help wanted” sign had been in the window for a months. We didn’t really need that much help, but legally I wasn’t meant to work noon to 2 almost every day.

I had suggested to Tulisa that we just cut down the hours, but she said the regional manager said no. I was surprised out to find out that our general manager still cared. I mean we were meant to be 24-hour-Videos but we had let that slip with people not owning video-type players anymore. I hadn’t saw one in at least five years till I started working here. We’re the only ones watching the tapes. The dvds went out now and again, and there was one guy who came in every weekend and rented Resident Evil on PlayStation 1. Why we had the video game was mysterious as why we still functioned as business.

It was a Friday night so I was expecting him any minute and almost done with my third coat of polish. I was planning to put a full bottle on my nails to see if that would stop it from chipping as soon as I finished. The bell ranged, alerting me to potential shoplifters. I didn’t lift my head and smile like Tulisa had trained me to do. I should probably turn off the slasher film that was playing, but it was 10pm at night and if it was a kid they’ve probably seen worse if they out this late. It was from the 80s and the gore was bad and fuzzy anyway.

“I saw the job wanted sign,” a deep voice says next to me. I jumped; I hadn’t heard them walk up next to me. Fuck I messed up my nail; I switched off the pathetic gore fest before looking up.

I look up to see some pale guy, in a long leather jack. He almost looks like he’s from the 80s.

“The manger isn’t here,” I burst out. God, he was attractive, I mean my type. I cough into my hand to calm myself. I didn’t know who he was so that probably meant he was too old for me and I was leaving in three months. I’m just startle because he made me jump. That’s it.

“I mean, you’ll have to come back when the manager’s here”.

“When will he be here?”

“SHE’ll be here tomorrow,” I say now annoyed, I hate that everyone always goes with male pronouns.

“See you then,” he says and walks straight out the store. Being annoyed left me with him walking out the door. If he shows up tomorrow then I guess we’re working together.

I put him out of my mind and get back to work. I still have half a bottle left.

***

The next morning I’m welcomed to Tulisa behind the counter, smiling at me even though I was late fifteen minutes.

“How is my Assistant Manager today?” Assistant Manager without anyone to manage was hollow. Though, Ted had gotten a job at the supermarket with that title. I miss Ted; he was fun to talk to. He was a pothead who had been working here from when this place made a profit and he made me do nothing.

Tulisa on the other hand, still takes this job seriously and we do the sad version of working here: Trying. Tulisa is middle age so doesn’t quite get how impossible it be to keep this place going. It must be losing a fortune or our best customers only came on a Tuesday.

“Fine, how is my Manager today?” Looking for another job, I hope.

“Well, I think we’re finally going to be able to fill that job,” She says happily. I guess Tall, Dark and handsome has some competition. “And he wants to work nights as well so maybe we’re be able to go back to actually being 24-hours.” She nervously laughs.

“I thought for the store to be open, you need at least Assistant Manager to be in,” I ask cautiously.

“Company policy says so, but it also says we’re to be open 24-hours. If being so short staffed and you’re having school…”

“I don’t have school any more, I can work all the nights you want me to.”

“Honey, I meant university, you’re going in September, it be good to have a someone trained up to replace you.”

I stared at her blankly, we weren’t replacing Ted. She was replacing me. My chair wasn’t even cold.

I slammed my bag down behind the counter.

“I’m going to change the specials,” I say walking to the front of the store and began tearing down the displays in the window. I was meant have done it Thursday, but my clipped nails were more important. I don’t why I was angry; this was just a dumb job to run the summer out. I had it since I was sixteen and it was my first job but that wasn’t problem. I never saw this place lasting longer than I did. It had been here since I born and I expected it to leave when I did.

I had claimed down by the time I had put the sign up saying we were doing 3 for 2 on Tapes/DVDS/Games with a free bag of popcorn with every tape that goes out. Meaning I get to eat a lot of popcorn before it goes out of date. I continued to avoid Tulisa by genrising and alphabetising the shelves. It’s a good thing I did, considering I found “Space Sluts II” in the kids section. Or maybe Disney will really do anything for money.

“Alex we have interview for 5pm, help me come up some questions?” Tuilsa asks me as I finished with the “Adult” section. I just found “Home Alone” in here; I do not want to think about that.

“Sure, we do have to figure out how to ask if she willing to prostitute herself to our league of loyal customers without directly saying it.”

“Alex,” she sounds exasperated, but that might be from the fact one out of ten customers hit on us. It had been one in five, but old Mrs Cumbles only had eyes for Ted. She gives us weekly updates of his “young muscles”. That might be worse than being hit on by an old man who couldn’t decide on my gender. Whether he called me “Girlie” or “Son”, it was always followed by some weird come on.

“He’s coming in at six tonight.” I raised my eyebrows at that.

“A bit late” I stated. Tulisa usually left me at it at five.

“Yes, but he said he couldn’t come in any early.” And we really need someone else to list as working at Midnight. I was going to miss the money, not that I had spent any of it.

“What about your kids?”

“An extra hour alone won’t hurt them and my Rupert is almost thirteen now.”

Yes, trust the S1 with the P1.

“Maybe you should go home at three and come back for the interview”

“What if the Regional manager comes in for surprise inspection?” It would be about time. In the two years, I had been working here, I hadn’t met him.

“I’ll say you had to pick up your kids early.”

“Okay, I’ll go and check them on now.” I checked my watch, it was already three.

“See you then,” I said awkwardly as she walked out the door. I sat down and got my nail polish out.

***

It was five forty-five and Tulisa wasn’t back yet. Should I be worried?

God, I hope this guy wasn’t the early type. I paced around the store, was I going to have conducted an interview myself? This was when Tulisa came through the door, her kids in tow.

“Sorry, Rupert was being difficult,” she frustrated. “Pick a video from the kids section, under 12 Rupert.” It was good thing; I had depornalise the kids section.

“It’s okay, she hasn’t showed up yet,” the bell ranged as I said this to a hooded guy wearing sunglasses and leather gloves. What is he a spy?

If this was a normal day, he would just be a weirdo customer. But all bets on him being my potential co-worker. I felt a tugging on shirt.

“Alex, do my nails like last time?” Tulisa’s five year old wined.

“Not now Rupert,” I said knowing it was Louisa who had attracted herself to me.

“I’m not Rupert,” she giggled before letting go to look at the animated films. I walked behind the counter and sat down. The guy followed me and stood in front of the counter.

“Yours,” he asked slyly.

“Yes, it’s especially hard time during their 40s,” I say sarcastically. He took off his glasses.

“So is the manager here now?” he smirked at me. God, it was the guy from the last night. I nodded.

“Hello, you must be Mister Graves?” Tulisa asked as she ignored her children running through the alleys. I guess I have to re-organised the tapes tomorrow, or maybe I get the new employee to do it.

“Yes, that’s me,” he said.

“I am Tulisa Black and this is Alex Grimm,” Tulisa said making me realise that our team would be gothicly cliché if we hired this guy. I was the only gothish person we needed.  To think this used to be ran by a Black and Smith. Arr…maybe we should get Ted Smith back to balance this place out.

“I am the manager and Alex is the assistant manager.” Why ain’t I getting addressed by my surname?

“Alex will take you into my office while I deal with em, our current customers.”

“Follow me Graves to our lair,” I said I lift the counter thing to let him through the back with me. I direct him to the cramped office that I haven’t been properly in since I was interviewed. I pointed him to the chair I had sat in and dumped myself in Tulisa’s chair, picking up the clipboard with the questions I had made up, once I finished my newest nail polish coat.

“So Mr Graves I have some important questions to ask you to decide whether or you’re suited for this job. First, I would like to start with if you would be willing to change your name to something less ‘Goth’?”

“No, I’m quite fond of my name.”

“That will definitely count against you,” I say kidding on to write notes on the clipboard. Instead, I’m drawing what I think his skull looks like. “We’ve been told that we have too much of Goth theme going on with our names, it why we had to let Alysa Darkness go.”

“But the eyeliner and blue hair is okay,” he smirked at me.

“I fulfill the gothic stereotype working in a video store, which bring us to my next question, would be willing to dye your blonde and wear fake tan; it would be just for three months?”

“What happens after three…”

“Sorry, my…the customers took longer than I thought, let’s start the interview,” Tulisa interrupted.

I smile and stand up from the chair for her. She sits now as I stand against the shelves of broken tapes, where Ted had stood during my interview. He hadn’t started the interview with pointless questions while Tulisa rounded up her kids.

“I hope you and Alex were getting along.” He smiles while I do my best to keep my face blank.

“Your c.v. and references were very impressive,” Tulisa said in her professional voice.

The interview went for a similar vein, till Tulisa’s seven year old Leannah came through the door saying the DVD had went staticly like that horror film.

“If you have any questions, I’m sure Alex will be able to handle them,” Tulisa said as she left the office. I sat the sit back down.

“When do I start?” he asked as soon as Tulisa left.

“Between a day and six thousand years,” I say tonelessly. “We call you tomorrow to let you know.”

“I can’t wait to hear from you,” he winks at me. I draw a blank on how to respond to that.

He stands up and grabs my limp hand to shake it. He walks out of the office. Tulisa comes in soon after and I’m still sitting in her chair.

“Isn’t he great?” Tulisa says happily. “We’re lucky to get him, no idea why he would want to work here.” Wow, that was unusually negative for her. “He’ll be starting tomorrow at five, I’m sure you do a good a job of training him.”

Great, I got to deal with him on one to one bases for three months. This was either going to be great or terrible.

Calling this thing a Career is probably going too far

Haló, so we are five days till Christmas. Isn't that distressing? I don't why as my family have agreed everyone getting late presents except for my parents because they still under the impression that people in their 20s still get visits from Santa. God, I've been in my 20s for a year and over half now, that another distressing thing.

I've only really got my youngest sister and little brother's. I'm petty sure she doesn't read my blog but who knows this might be the week checks out what I'm producing for the internet. My brother (the older one of course) suggested that I say I do this thing to improve my career on my personal statement. I don't why I find that so laughable. I mean I do technically make money off this blog, but the way google ads works I've not made enough to actually receive any of those earning. And that's not a clue for you start clicking randomly on ads. I've got to say though, if on YouTube if I actually like the person video I'm more likely to finally click or watch an ad to see what the hell the ad trying to pug me. Maybe find this as career laughable as I'm pretty sure that its not career smart to bad mouth your hopefully future peers' work but that again if the only people I've actually been somewhat mean to are people I would avoid even if I have publicly rated a 1 star. Also I don't think I would cut off writer completely if I gave them one star unless I really hate their basic writing style which you can't tell unless you've read at least two of their books (not from the same series) or they've been writing for a while so they probably not going to get majorly better or their themselves are morally objectionable to me in a way I can't get over (which is the main reason the hype of Ender's Game will never get me) or probably the most likely none of the plot summaries of their other books speak to me.

Back to the point, maybe it due with the amount of complaining I do on here. Though, if anyone would like to pay me to complain about things then you welcomed to give me a offer. My email information can be found somewhere on here.

I guess nothing that much happen this week. My personal statement is what could be called a finished state but I'm not sure it actually conveys my passion for film. I think I actually regret looking up the tips before I had a finished version as it limited me and made me paranoid. They say they want a personal statement from YOU, but then they give a list of words not use whilst saying not to use a thesaurus. I say, use a thesaurus but only use the words you already knew before you looked. It can reminded you of words that you already knew which would fit better.

The thing I'm confused about, is should I go in to depth about film and book theory. It so hard and limiting that even being told what they look for gives me so little. I feel fake when I gushed about classic films like Sunset Boulevard, which is incredibility annoying considering it the only film I can think about.

Is it bad that I've sort of been threatening not coming home for Christmas next year, before I'm even accept anywhere, because the dorms are open and fun could be had by myself. I'm going to fill my dorm with lights and tinsel, and then neglect to take any of it down until I leave that room so the cleaners will talk about girl whose been celebrated Christmas for six months especially if I always make sure to have Christmas music blaring when ever they come.

I'm going to miss my dog and having a cat to annoy when I go to uni. I wish my application was sent away but I feel like I have to wait to hear back from my tutor before I send it and anyway I think I have to wait for her to write my reference before I can send away because I'm doing as a individual.

I'm going now as I have a long list of things to do this holiday. I mean I would like to have passed my theory test before I go back to college and have a organised room before I leave for uni. Also As are a thing I would like.

Farewell, join me next week where we will be sticking to traditional and evaluating this year's goals.

Weirdly Poetic.

I have a sleeping dog in my room that I think may be trying to keep me trapped in my room. He lays blocking the door. To leave I would have to stand on him and manage to get the door open though his body would stop the door in it's path. It's a good thing that I do not plan to leave my bed. I have blog posts to write and it's too hot to move.

The exact temperature I do not know, but room's location doubles it ten folds. I hadn't spent much time in my own personal oven that day as I had drove in and out of time after my sister who can't drive and volunteers three hours of her time whilst my mother asks when I will take my theory. I say the end of August as it is far away as she will be pleased with but who knows, maybe I mean the august after next.

Father's day present I brought, birthday present remains to be fulfilled. The gift of jeans cannot disappear with the intention of dinner. I also spent too much on myself after last week's twenty-one books to sit pretty amougst the other pile of tomes.  A candle holder, usefully for when modern light fails; vitamins to make stronger nails, brighter hair and skin involvement is a mystery; skin masks to peel away; and finally hair dye did I buy.

My hair has been tamed once more by others hands after years only mine. It is slightly shorter and certain top strands lighter. I do not care for the lightness so I plan to turn the lightness into brightness with shades of pink and purple. In a week or so.

Until then I have my books and videos to be busy with. My VEDJ project is going better than it started with each day have a video to go with it. Issues I did have on the cursed Friday the 13th as it rained where my creativity called for dry skies. Creativity was stilled until today where it finally flowed.

Father's Day is tomorrow, my sister never brought a card so now we're meant to share. She owes me a coin then. I've spoken all I have today, so I type to you the same day I always do when it comes age new. Farewell til then.

P.S. Yeah, I wrote the post in a weird style mainly because I haven't wrote anything creative in a while, maybe next week. If you want weird comments go by your parents room in oneies during unusual heat.

April Rain

With less than a week left in the month of April, I figure it's a good idea to go over what I actually managed to accomplished this month. The answer is not much.

My best laid schemes have went agley.Firstly,My novel writing stopped half way through the second week of the month and never started up. My blog post stopped being posted on time in any form either so writing of any kind did not happen the way it was supposed to.

The  Review-a-Thon never happen, but lets be honest that was always going to be a pipe dream. I think if I was going to do actual, successfully review-a-thon, I would need to have majority of the books I was going to review; read at the very least, reviews actually written before I announced my intention to do so. Probably not till after the summer, because maybe I go book mad when my book guilt finally catches up with me. I stare at my bookcase just thinking about it and my stats on Netgalley still bug me.

I broke my Book Ban, I should not be left in Waterstones by myself or any bookshop. I'm back on my ban with the strong intent and no plans to go anyway near any book selling shops any time soon. I must fight temptation.

I'm still behind on my TBR mount challenge, in fact even far behind as no books from the pile were read. The strangle is this doesn't bug me as much as it should.

My exercising has currently stopped due to illness and musical. I plan to restarted it once the musical is over.

I have also stopped making videos. Filmed videos at the start of the month and never got around to editing them. So my YouTube is saddly not active. I've stopped watching BookTube videos as well, just not been in the mood for them.

I'm going to go now before I think of more failures. Join me next time where I lament over the fact I'm almost 21 and doing nothing with my life.

I Win (Short story of sorts)

Hi, losers. This week I give you a story that start out as something else but turn into something completely different with naughty words in it. I was initially writing something about Time Slips which turn into something sort of involving superheros (I never tell how, well maybe if you ask really nicely). Basically, I started writing something and other character started shouting at me to write their story instead.

I've been really tired lately, so enjoy this rarely seen creativity.

 I Win

"You know Darren, this totally not the best way to meet our deadlines?" I say slipping my hot chocolate. Darren had dragged me from my desk on the pursuit of "Coffee". I frankly think the stuffs disgusting.

"No, this is the perfect way to finish them," He smirks behind his latte. "It gives the Deadline fairies the chance to do them for us."

"I'm petty sure, you're thinking of elves," I say, nudging his knee under the table. "And they're only known to make shoes in the middle of the night."

"No, I'm not. Elves make shoes, fairies write articles, reports and essays."

"Where were these fairies in high school?" I snicker.

"They were helping the smart kids get As," he says with his theory failing.

"Yeah, but if we have to leave our desks for them to come out, how would they help the smart kids in tests?"

"They...They reveal themselves to people they like."

"Oh," I say, pretending that this is big revelation and not Darren's typical bull. "So they like you, but not me."

"I wouldn't take it personally," he says coyly. "We can't all have my charm and good looks." I kick him hard under the table. He jumps up, shaking the table, spilling his drink. I slip mine, as he sits back down.

"You've got to really look out for those gobins," I say innocently. "They're known to attack arrogant boys."

"So why haven't they attack you?" I'm tempted to kick him again, but instead look at his hand where I can see a burn forming.

"You should probably get that under cold water," I say, feeling almost guilty. I really hadn't meant to make such a mess when I kicked him.

"Why don't we go back to your place?" He smirks at me."And you can ice it for me?"

"Sure," briefly enjoying the look of surprise in his eyes. "While we there, you can have a cold shower, to make sure you didn't miss any of the burns, obviously."

"Or you could just give me a complete rub down?" He says continuing to flirt with me. For some reason, this is our favourite game to play. He attractive enough, but...hm. Okay, there's not really a but. We're young and chasing things or something.

"Sorry, do I look like your gym teacher?"

"Na, his boobs were bigger." He says leaving me stumped. He begins to look smug. I sit stuck for few moments.

"Anything bigger than a C just gets in the way," I replied finally. It was weak retort but size jokes were low anyway.

"I win," he says.

"I hope the gobins bite you in the arse."

"You're just upset that the fairies like me," he says replies nudging my leg under the table. I'm almost tempted to kick him again. He would definitely deserve it.

"Oh my god, is this your weird way of coming out to me?"

"What? Oh fairies as homosexuals. I said they liked me, not that I was one!"

"You're right, that must be why I put up with you," I reply waiting.

"Wait, you're gay," he askes shocked. "I thought you went out with Dean."

"`No, whatever gave you that idea,"I say as if serious. I had, had brief thing with Dean.

"Hm..ar..." I watch him struggle for a reply, before I begin to laugh.

"I win," I say triumphantly.

"So you're not gay?" he asked clearly confused now.

"Bi actually. It just never came up before."

"Cool, we can have three way," he replies.

"I've always wanted to have sex with two guys at once."

"I'm straight."

"That what they all say, right before they end up with a cock in their mouths."

"Seriously, can we stop talking about this."

"Why, are you scared of the gays?"

"I'm not the homophobic one. You were calling them fairies a second ago."

"No, I wasn't. I honestly thought you were coming out to me," I lie convincingly. I'm quite good at it. Though, it bit of stretch to believe someone would come out using a story about Deadline Fairies.

We sit in silence as we finish as drinks. Maybe our game had went too far.

"If you are gay, I don't care. I was only messing around," I say finally.

"To be honest, I've never gave it much thought."

"Then you're probably not. I mean, not sure how anyone could go through puberty without getting any thoughts..." I stop to reminisced on my own thoughts of boys and girls.

"Well, maybe I did have some thoughts," he says shyly.

"Oh, really do tell," I say eagerly. Damn the Slash lover inside of me. I probably know way too much about male gay sex than any woman has right too.

"Can we maybe not do this such a public place," he says using his hand to indicate the café. I doubt anyone was listening to us, but for all I know our whole conversation has been live-blogged on to twitter or tumblr.

"Fine, then get some "coffee" to go and we can go back to my place," I say getting up.

"Could you get mine for me, I just need a second?" He says, shoving the money into my hand.

"Okay," I say taking it. I try my best not to smirk.

I get the drinks and meet him out side. "Feeling better," I say handing him his coffee.

"Yeah, just my hand has started to hurt," he replies as we begin to walk in direction of my flat.

"Sure it did," I say eying him. I decided to let drop as he has started to look uncomfortable. We walk mostly in silence for the fifteen minutes it takes to get home. Our banter has kinda been lost.

I open the flat door, I shout a greeting to empty house. I guess both my flatmates are out, but I still take Darren to my room and shut the door in case they come back.

"So a penny for your gay thoughts?" I ask once we're both sat on my bed.

"My history teacher had a nice arse," he replies. "I would always stared at it when ever he turned his back to us."

"Its official, you're a gay," I joke. He just death glares me. I sigh. "Like I said, it no big deal. If you only like girls, you're hetero, if like only boys you're homo, if you like both you're Bi. I personally think everyone a little bit Bi. Well, maybe not if you're Asexual..." I stop once I realise I've been rambling.

"Can we just get drunk and do something stupid?" He says jumping off the bed.

"What like asking my next neigbour if he wants a threeway?" I say. He turns red. I grasp at him. The guy right next to us this bluff, professional type. I see him in the hall all the time, I had pointed him out to Darren when we had seen him jogging and I had... we both obviously had admired the view. "Oh my god, you're fancy my neighbour."

"No, he..." he hesitant. "Fine, he's hot."

"That he is," I smirk. "Well, we don't have to be drunk to do something stupid." I run out of the room.

"Wait, what?" he shouts after me. I'm already out of the flat, banging on the door. "You're unbelievable," he had ran after me.

"He might not even be in," I say as the door opens. My neighbour stands wet and shirtless, he has a nice chest. He only has dorky glasses and sweat pants on.

"Hi," he says staring at us.

"Hey," I reply and nudging Darren shoulder.

"Can I help with something?" he asks confused.

"I'm your neighbour," I say, intentionally not giving my name or exact location. "Well, my friend here wanted to ask you something." I looked at Darren to find him gone. "Oh my god, the fairies have took him."

"Are you on something?" he asks concerned. Probably for his own safety.

"No, just life. Oh by the way,  you're hot. If you ever want a threesome, feel free bang on our door." I say walking away.

"Er...thanks I think," I hear him replied. I keep walking down the hall until I hear him shut his door before actually walking back into my flat.

I find Darren at my desk, playing with a pencil.

"I can't believe you abandoned me like that."

"I can't believe you actually knocked on his door," he says avoiding eye contract.

"Why not?" I say as dump myself on my bed. "We both obviously fancy him, why not offer him a threeway?"

"You didn't" he says finally looking up at me.

"If you have to ask that question, you're clearly don't know me well enough."

"Oh, I know you," he says, almost bitterly. "What would you have done if he had said yes?"

I never actually thought he would, I mean who accepts come ons by complete strangers. Okay, lots of people.

"I never actually gave him the ability to accept. I stated him the opportunity and walked away. He doesn't even know where I live."

"How can you be sure of that?" He says, making a good point. I mean if I know where he lives, then there good chance he might have seen me. Damn, my pink hair. He'd probably never notice me otherwise.

"Even if he does, he seems like alright bloke, we never had any problems with him and also I'm petty sure he's gay."

"How do you know?"

"Boyfriend, saw them making out in the hall once, twice, actually a few times."

"You stalker," he states. I would deny it but I did like the view.

"Well, they shouldn't put such a show on in the hall." I throw myself back onto the mattress. The bed boards creak.

"Was it a good view?" he asks.

"Yes, it what slash fictions are made of."

There suddenly banging on the door.

"Who do ya think that'ra be?" I say quietly, pulling myself up.

"You should go answer it," Darren says spinning the pencil on the desk.

"No, you should," I say. "It be the neighbour; if you answer it, he'll think it's the wrong flat."

"That's almost smart," he says standing up. "Fine, I'll answer it but you owe me."

"You're the best," I say. "I'll make sure to give you a happy ending later."

He groaned. "Please don't say stuff like that unless you mean it."

"I wouldn't say it, unless I meant it," I say seriously. Maybe I'm sick of the games.

"I best go answer that," he says without looking back. I go to listen at my beddoor.

"Hi," I hear Darren say. I fight the urge to laugh.

"Where the pink haired one?" deep male voice asks. I don't recognise the voice. I'm totally dying my hair tonight.

"Hur?" Darren cleverly replies. "No one matching that description lives here."

"Oh, really," the deep voices say. "Do you know she offering threeways at this address?"

"Oh really?" Darren echos, faking shock. "I had no idea."

"I know for a fact only girls live here," the male voice says. "So who are you?"

"If you must know, I'm female. I like to dress more, what you probably call Masculine." Darren would actually make a petty girl if he wish to dress that way. Wait, how does he know only females live here?

"You have quite the bulge for a female,"Mr Deep says flirtatiously.

"I keep a sock down there, I think it makes these jeans look better." He replies just as flirtatiously.

"Shame," is Mr Deep's barely audio reply. I hear Darren inhale. "Bit hard for a sock." Darren just mumbles.  OMG, did that guy just grope him? Oh, I really wish I could see what going on.

"Okay, I don't live here," Darren confesses, huskily. "I'm just visiting my friend."

"Well, do you want have a threeway?" Mr Deep asks.

"Sure, what sort?" Darren replies confidently.

"The fun sort," is the reply.

"I'm not sure my girlfriend will be that appreciate that."

"Is she the pink hair one?"

"Maybe." Traitor.

"So she does live here?"

"Maybe." I jump up at that and push through the door. Mr Deep and Darren are basically touching, they standing that close to each other.

"Remind me never to trust you in an uncover mission," I say walking to the door. Mr Deep is quite hot, wait he's the hot neighbour's boyfriend. Not sure why that surprises me.

"When would we ever go uncover, we're music journalists?"

" I am, you're just the photo boy," I say cockily. Darren is just good writer as am, he does the writing sometimes and I do the photos. It bit of joke between us that we're not meant to switch. Our paper weird. "I might change routes someday."

"Not without me," he replies, still eying Mr Deep. "You're stuck with me."

"Not if I leave the country," I reply. Or the planet, I think. I too begin to eye Mr Deep, it the first time I've had a good look at him. I smirk at him when I realise I  recognise him from somewhere other than my hallway. I'm not going to mention it, I decide.

"I'll leave with you," he says, not turning to look at me once. I look down to see him hard, I shake my head.

"Now whose the stalker," I mumble.

"So have been going around offering Threeways to all the neighbours?" Mr Deep interrupts.

"Only the hot ones," I say wrapping my arm around Darren. "Would you like to come in?" I flutter my eyelashes.

"I'm not sure my boyfriend will be that appreciate that," he says seriously, but there mirth in his eyes.

"Maybe you shouldn't go around offering threeways to young girls then?" I say making it clear I've heard the whole conversation.

"Maybe you shouldn't be going around offering threeways to half naked men?" he says back.

"How was I to do know he'd be half naked?" I replied in a winning bow. Mr Deep looks stumped. He spends a minute just looking me over.

"I win, if you would like to play another round, knock another day," I say pushing Mr Deep into the hallway by his shoulders. "I have something hard to solve," I whisper into his ear before shutting the door on his face.

"You're a mental case, you know that right?" Darren says looking me over.

"At least I don't get turned on by strange men!" I reply, locking the door. You never know.

"Who says I was turn on by him?"

"I know I was," I reply. "Just listen to that voice." Darren gives me a look and I give him one back. "I'm kidding, sort of."

"He was hot, I was hoping he would bend me over." That reminded me.

"Did he really cop a feel?" I ask.

"Yeah," he replied. "God, I almost came from him doing that."

"I always knew you were prev." I say walking to my bedroom. "Come along, young one I'll show you good time."

"Yes, Sir." I slap him for that one.
