In the Twilight Zone

I have started watching The Twilight Zone; I have seen the odd episode before from it being randomly on TV and watched a few online due to cult following. You're be surprised how many Twilight Zones have been referenced and parodied since it aired. I'm only through the seconded half of the first season and there are two that I've seen directly parodied. Also it clearly influenced a lot of stuff and  I really wished we had a modern version of the Twilight Zone.

What else has been going on you might wonder? Well, if you follow me on Twitter religious -which I highly doubt anyone does- you would know that I'm going to the Edinburgh International Book Festival this year. The tickets are brought and the hotels are booked. YAY! To be honest it's not as good as last year which was Graphic Novel themed. This year it sort of Future of Scotland themed and there always other stuff going on. I'm going for three days, I was initially going for 4 but do cost and actually willingness to get up that day. I'm getting up there by bus so it is a bit of a trek.

I'm going on the 9th, 17th and 24th August and basically going to all the YA events on those days. Getting to see some of my favourite writers, a lot of which you can find on this blog. It's not as good as last year for me as last year was graphic novel themed and it had the likes of Grant Morrison there. If I could go the same way as I can this year, I wouldn't have the ability to go to all the events I wanted to anyway. I have dragged two people into coming with me. Frankly, I would have went alone if I had to.

My life is all excitement right now, I even burnt things today, those things were dead parts of trees. I for once did not film as I have enough footage of fire and trees which I have only briefly displayed in a video book review.

I also broke my Book Buying Ban, I finally stopped my denial about it. Especially since I blatantly broke it again today. I don't want to talk about.

I'm going to go now, probably to read, stare out at the stars and wonder when the book Fever will strike again which is only a matter of time in the Twilight Zones.

Broken Things.

Hello friends of the internet, I went to Food Town Day today. Don't worry I didn't partake in any of that. I went to a café that opened everyday and ate food that you could get everyday. Okay, so I didn't really go to Food Town Day, It was raining so barely any one did go and it's a tourist scam anyway.

You're be horrified to find out that I broke my Book Buying Ban in a major way. I didn't just break it, I smashed it on the ground whist the glue was seting and then did that same thing again. Yes, I brought books three times this month. I brought 13 books on Monday, (I also brought a book for a pound but that doesn't count), four on Thursday and another five today. I have a serious problem. It's not my fault it's Waterstones. No, BookTube. Goodreads? Mine? No, it couldn't be. It's yours.

Okay, now I'm just blaming everyone. It's mine for being weak. Sure, I have excuses: my TV and laptop broke on the same day; making me depress and I buy books when I'm depressed. It probably not the best coping mechanism, but definitely not the worst. I went to steal my little brother's TV today but he was in there and still is. Not using the TV though. I've stolen my mum's laptop successfully.

I know why I do it partly, I just wish my book guilt would override my want of books. I shouldn't have decided somewhere in my brain because my TV and laptop broke meant my Book Buying Ban should match.

I have started a new system to tackle my Mount TBR challenge. Every time I read a book I don't actually own e.g. library, netgalley; I have to read a book I own before I can read another book I don't own. I have my doubts that I'll stick to it fully, but it should at least stop me having months without reading any books that are actually mine.

I'm also having a book giveaway on my BookTube channel, I'm giving away some books that I'm planing to get rid of anyway (mainly because I own several copy of them). That's all for this week, I'll leave with the giveaway video.

April Rain

With less than a week left in the month of April, I figure it's a good idea to go over what I actually managed to accomplished this month. The answer is not much.

My best laid schemes have went agley.Firstly,My novel writing stopped half way through the second week of the month and never started up. My blog post stopped being posted on time in any form either so writing of any kind did not happen the way it was supposed to.

The  Review-a-Thon never happen, but lets be honest that was always going to be a pipe dream. I think if I was going to do actual, successfully review-a-thon, I would need to have majority of the books I was going to review; read at the very least, reviews actually written before I announced my intention to do so. Probably not till after the summer, because maybe I go book mad when my book guilt finally catches up with me. I stare at my bookcase just thinking about it and my stats on Netgalley still bug me.

I broke my Book Ban, I should not be left in Waterstones by myself or any bookshop. I'm back on my ban with the strong intent and no plans to go anyway near any book selling shops any time soon. I must fight temptation.

I'm still behind on my TBR mount challenge, in fact even far behind as no books from the pile were read. The strangle is this doesn't bug me as much as it should.

My exercising has currently stopped due to illness and musical. I plan to restarted it once the musical is over.

I have also stopped making videos. Filmed videos at the start of the month and never got around to editing them. So my YouTube is saddly not active. I've stopped watching BookTube videos as well, just not been in the mood for them.

I'm going to go now before I think of more failures. Join me next time where I lament over the fact I'm almost 21 and doing nothing with my life.

Back to the Hydro

I'm still sick. Can you believe it? I think I might have throat inflection. I'm going to make a doctor appointment on Tuesday if isn't gone by then. I have this dry cough, making honking noises is getting old.

On the more excited side of life, I saw McBusted on Thursday. Their first official concert, they said so themselves. I drove up half the way there, mum the other half due to the fact it wouldn't have been legal if I had drove that part of the road. My driving is coming together of sorts. Soon I will be running down children and old people who don't leave the street fast enough.

So McBusted were petty great. They've really matured in ten years, tripled breast, jumping on each others backs, Matt in a dress and still obsessed with Back to the Future. We almost got shot with a t-shirt by Matt but the people who got there early did instead.
.
The Review-a-thon is not happening. I have not written any reviews written for it and as I'm letting everything else slide I may well let this on go down the slide after the rest of my plans. I suppose it was a silly idea consider how sick I am of Reviews right now. I'm just finding it really hard to write my thoughts down. I've got to stop requesting so many books basically. I think I'm just going to slip reviews on Thursday randomly or something.

I've also accidentally requested a review copy twice and they sent it to me twice so I'm not sure what I should do with it. Suggestions are welcome.

Due to the concert I've also missed my exercise schedule and see no way of me catching up with it at this point so I'm letting this week go and will start a flesh on Monday.
I call this guess where we were sitting.

More disappointingly, I have not wrote anything of my novel in over a week now. I'm deeply annoyed with my self. I don't know if I'm going to attempt to catch up or not as I have three library books to read and return in two weeks.

I also happen to have broken my Book Buying Ban on Friday, in a major away but I did show some retaint but obviously not enough. This is also after sneaking charity super market books for a pound. I went 38 days without any buying full price books. I have spent more than a tenner I would have counted the charity books as a break. I'm back on it and hopefully I'll best myself. Maybe that will become a thing.

I'm gonna flee now to do stuff, like thinking about looking for black trousers.
P.S. Trying to put photos in these posts is such a pest. They never go where I want.

Valentine's and Loving things.

So it was Saint Valentine's Day and I bet you all dying to know how it went with my imagery boyfriend. Well, Batman and Sherlock Holmes were both busy being gay with Superman and John Watson (can you believe that they all went on a Double date without me. I was the one who introduced them to each other).  Great, I've just gave myself another fict idea that I will never get around to writing but now I have a fun idea to think about. Is it weird that my imagery boyfriends have my boyfriends of their own in my mind?

Seriously, I don't really see Valentine's as a big deal. Even if I did have a special someone, whose was real, I doult I would want to do something special especially since every other couple seems to be out at the same time.  Wouldn't any gift you gave them be cheaped? Also Valentine's is meant to be when you confess your love? The person you're in a relationship hopefully already knows that love them. That said, I would totally accept any chocolate they want to give me. Especially if they brought it today cause it's probably on sale.

I spent most of the day in bed with my usual lover. Yes, my laptop who has a escaped a name unlike Gerard Arthur (my middle-aged typewriter remember). I think I might have once named it. Have no clue what it name was. Been playing Facebook games whilst listening to CreepyPasta. I even started writing one. Not sure if it will work out well. But it there.

I have also been visiting my mistress again. It mistress right now as I'm not meant to be buying books. I recently brought books off Waterstones not thinking they would be coming till April. Well, some of them came this week. So now I have packages awkwardly lying in a pile on bookcase waiting to be dealt with. It shouldn't be so hard to avoid buying books. Maybe if I get into my head that I actually have no money in my bank as I really have to save for Flordia especially since I got the weirdest letter off Income Support where my money randomly lowers for a week and then rises tiny bit the next.

I've been feeling rather tired lately. I've been having issues with the course thing I'm on. Life is diffcult.

I'm hopefully going to be building my bed next week as I'm off offically and also getting armchair in my room which is something I thought would never happen. I have to get my room ready though. I'm also a bit panicked about my reviews as I need two up this Wed and I haven't read them yet. But hear I did finish a book series this week so that is something.

That's enough about my love life. I shall write to you next week (which will hopefully have two book reviews). Now I'm off to read like the wind.

I took photos of that fallen tree today.

Janurary Ramblings

Heló peops, so there nothing perpendicular I want to talk about in this week. I've read 16 books so far this month (this year would be accurate too). I've brought so many books that I don't want to think about it. It's not my fault it WhSmith who sell damaged books at full price but had buy one get one half price on their graphic novels yesterday. Brought Kick-Ass and Batman so fun times a head.

Stuff that I didn't say in last week post because of having a post that actually had a point. I'm finally getting a new bed which should come Monday. My room is still not quite ready for it to be built.  I found mould on some of my books the horror, attempting to sort it out. I've been buying things I shouldn't (Here's a hint it starts with a 'B' and ends with a 'K'. I finally moved that bookcase last week, now to move the chest and then the TV. I'll have to move the camp bed out of my room.

I have to finish my room this weekend. Last night I kept knocking this bag of clothing next my bed over. I'm also sitting a top of a pile of books next to be review. The next three weeks of reviews are planned, only one week written or read but that will change soon. It nice to have a plan that falls in with my British Book Challenge.

I really need to stop buying so many books, I have like over hundred books waiting to be read and yes I've read 16 books this year but 11 of them were library or Netgalley a.k.a books that I don't actually own. Yes, some were me catching up to series I've already started and therefore saving me from actually buying them. I  just buying too many. I need to stop for a while. Maybe not stop buying books altogether more sticking to ones that I've wanted for a while.

I kinda only want to buy books by British authors or books that are being relased this year. Maybe I buy one or two books a month (I guess more if its a boxset I decided to buy but then only the boxset). Not like a number I'm allowed to spend, yes I need to save but the number of books I own unread is a issue I would like to reduce.

I plan to not get as many books from the library once I'm done with the Vampire Academy series, there's a few I want to take out as to finish a series or to try a series out that I've heard a lot about. The library does save me some money and its a good source for British books.

I'm starting this Hospiaty course on Monday which will hopefully lead to job so I have more money to save for this holiday. I hope it goes well.

My sleeping pattren as been rather weird lately. I've been trying to turn it so I'm awake during the daylight hours not much success. For instance, last night I fell asleep a 10pm and woke at 1.11am. I got back to sleep at 4 something and woke at noon from probling. It'll probably woke itself out.

I hoping to join this coleb channel but I need to film audition. I've done the main filming but need to extra bits tomorrow (realistic it will happened then) and then edit it. There's a lot of people interested.

I finished reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield in the early hours of this morning (a review will eventually appear here) so I watched the BBC Adaption. I'm not sure if I like it or not. I think a good adaption should capture the spirit of the book and I don't know if it did. There are certain changing that I really don't like.

I guess all for this week so I'll see you in the next.
