Back to the Hydro

I'm still sick. Can you believe it? I think I might have throat inflection. I'm going to make a doctor appointment on Tuesday if isn't gone by then. I have this dry cough, making honking noises is getting old.

On the more excited side of life, I saw McBusted on Thursday. Their first official concert, they said so themselves. I drove up half the way there, mum the other half due to the fact it wouldn't have been legal if I had drove that part of the road. My driving is coming together of sorts. Soon I will be running down children and old people who don't leave the street fast enough.

So McBusted were petty great. They've really matured in ten years, tripled breast, jumping on each others backs, Matt in a dress and still obsessed with Back to the Future. We almost got shot with a t-shirt by Matt but the people who got there early did instead.
.
The Review-a-thon is not happening. I have not written any reviews written for it and as I'm letting everything else slide I may well let this on go down the slide after the rest of my plans. I suppose it was a silly idea consider how sick I am of Reviews right now. I'm just finding it really hard to write my thoughts down. I've got to stop requesting so many books basically. I think I'm just going to slip reviews on Thursday randomly or something.

I've also accidentally requested a review copy twice and they sent it to me twice so I'm not sure what I should do with it. Suggestions are welcome.

Due to the concert I've also missed my exercise schedule and see no way of me catching up with it at this point so I'm letting this week go and will start a flesh on Monday.
I call this guess where we were sitting.

More disappointingly, I have not wrote anything of my novel in over a week now. I'm deeply annoyed with my self. I don't know if I'm going to attempt to catch up or not as I have three library books to read and return in two weeks.

I also happen to have broken my Book Buying Ban on Friday, in a major away but I did show some retaint but obviously not enough. This is also after sneaking charity super market books for a pound. I went 38 days without any buying full price books. I have spent more than a tenner I would have counted the charity books as a break. I'm back on it and hopefully I'll best myself. Maybe that will become a thing.

I'm gonna flee now to do stuff, like thinking about looking for black trousers.
P.S. Trying to put photos in these posts is such a pest. They never go where I want.

An Assiduous April (a planned one anyway).

Yes, I did use a thesaurus to get that title. I wanted alliteration in my title and 'busy' starts with a B. 'Active' might of worked but I don't like the connotations of that word; especially since something I'm going to be talking about is exercise and that not what I want you to take from the title. I suppose some would argue would be the more literate title because of it connotations of exercise. It also sounds like NHS scheme,  I actually think there is one called 'Active April'.

Now that spend a full paragraph explaining my word choice in the title of today's post, let me explain what I actually mean by it. I have a lot of stuff going on this April, all of them things I have decided I wanted to do this April (except one that only really gets busy in the last few days of April).

I already mention a few these already on here, such as the Review-a-thon which I have decided is definitely happening during 21st to the 27th due to the fact that I have a concert during the week I had planned and other family stuff might be happening. Also it will give me more time to read and write reviews meaning there will be more reviews. This is a good thing because I haven't finishing reading books for next Wednesday review. I have three days to do it. I managed it somehow, I've done it before.

I'm also doing Camp NaNoWriMo this month. I want to finish my novel and should be doable as I have figured out how I get the end. I've know how my book ended when I started this proper first draft at least. I've actually wrote the epilogue which I feel I might be too happy with. It took me years to figure it out how to join the middle to the climax of the novel, but it came to me from something I randomly wrote to add angst which gave me the idea for a later scene which is the scene I needed. It shouldn't be surprising that to progress with a story you have to write and not just lie in bed thinking about it.

I had about 36,000 words wrote so far so I gave myself the goal of 20,000 words. If I finish writing my novel before writing that many words, I shall move on to writing short stories as that is something I really liked doing and haven't done much of it. I kinda lost my creative writing vibe for a while which is sad, but it works.

So hopefully by the end of this month I have a complete first draft and few short stories. I'm so looking forward to getting my teeth into editing it. I know of a few issues already but I wanted to have a full draft before tackling them. If I know all the rough scenes I already have, then I know everything I need to add or should take out. I think it going to be too long so I'm petty sure I'm going have to take stuff out. I think the start might be too slow and too much going to take place
in the last 10,000 words. I worry about that at the time.

The most out of character and hardest challenge of the month is that I have started exercising.  One of those video programmes things that you do basically everyday for a few months. I have became rather unfit from doing nothing and my trampoline has mysteriously broke again. I want a six pack is what I'm actually trying to say. Frankly, I would be impressed if I managed a flat stomach. Packs are for people who care. I've gained weight so far but lost cm so hopefully it working and my muscle feel weird. I now own a sports Bra that is awesome because it has pockets and I want all bras to have pockets.

I'm also still doing Musical so dancing and singing at the same time. Last year we open in the last week of April but we opening (and closing) in May. I have three whole lines to remember so four hours, then six hours a week of doing that.

That all I got to say this week and since I'm rather busy, I'm now off to read, write and eat a tub of icecream. Kidding about that last one or am I? Find out next week (probably not).

2014 Goals

This week has been book heavy as I've been partaking Bout of Books 9.0 Readathon. I've so far read 6 books which if you're counting is one more book than how many days there is. I'm hoping to have read 9 books by Monday Midnight. I also went to both of the libraries I frequent and plan to go again next week to big one.  Though, reading all these library books isn't very good for some of my challenges these years.

  1. To read a book a week. I like reading books at this rate and will need to if I'm to meet my other book goals. (so far I done this and more).
  2. Read 100 books. I read 103 books last year but I'm doing stuff this year which I might be busy so I could have read more that easily last year so I'm just going to stick with that goal for next year.
  3. I want to finish writing The Stranger a.k.a my June 2012 Camp NaNoWriMo novel a.k.a the novel I've been working on since I was 15. I would really like to have a finished first draft of this novel. Its an aim.
  4. To continue with this weekly blog. Maybe even to have blog main topics pre-written and thought out more. I suppose my blog will becoming more like twice weekly.
  5. I think maybe focusing more on Creative Writing. I've got so many ideas that I want to do and I'm planning to something creative writey for a career.*fingers crossed* Also it could be part of the whole weekly post thing.
  6. On the other subject of writing, I want to start keeping a diary every day better than I did last year. I just really want to have a daily record of my life and you know writing everyday should make be a better writer (hell, maybe even a quicker one).
  7. To pass my driving tests. Need to do my theory and practical. I'm back on the insurance this year and I'm seeing about possible fund like I said in last week blog. It would be nice to get this done before May so I'll be able to drive before Open day season as both my parents can no longer cope with long journeys well and you know independence and that.
  8. To write Personal Statement and applied to UCAS (University). I want to get this done in petty of time so I don't have to have a mass panic around December 2014 to get in on time. Applying early is my goal.
  9. To do filming this summer so I have a good portfolio of stuff and not just use something because it all I've got.
  10. To do well in my studies of all sort. I've applied to college starting in August, hopefully I'll be accept so I want to do well straight away. The finial exam will actually be next year but I still need to have good predicted grades. If I'm doing well they be less stress to when it comes closer to exam time.
  11. To get a job. I'm meant to be going on Holiday this year and so I need spending money. Also saving some money for Uni would be good too. I've never had a job so getting real work experience before Uni would be brilliant as I am going to have to work to support myself realistically.
  12. To read 50 books by British Authors, this is part of the British Book Challenge which I'm doing for the second time this year. I did it last year and managed to 22 British Books in that year (I also won books from doing so you know fun). So I've decided to up myself on this front, also I was shocked by the number of books I read by Americans. I have to read a book and write a book almost every week if I'm to managed that.
  13. To read 60 books from existing book pile. This should be easy as I don't plan to really buy books this year as I own tons I haven't read yet and I have to save money this year. I'm taking part in Mount TBR Challegne which equals to be read piles with Mounts. Who knows I might manage to tackle a higher Mount than I think. We're see.
  14. To finish ten book series. I own/access to a lot of completed series so it would be good to get a lot of them done this year and ten seems like a good number.
So that basically my plan of action for 2014. Wish me luck. Now I'm off to read and go see The Desolation of Smaug (wish me luck again).

The Wonderland Ban (How to keep oneself busy till then)

Hi, guys, so in a much better mood this week. I now have a giant pile of book packages which is probably the best indicator of my need to stop buying books.
There's more coming too.

I currently own 131 unread books and I've included the series I own as if they were just the one book. As you know I own complete series which I've never read any of them (such The Monroeville Vampires Series and there's currently 13 of them). I didn't add the series I thought it was kinda unproductive as I need to catch upwith/finish these series as much as to get through my currently large unread collection. So it really the same goal as the books.

Sometimes like I acquire books without thinking. For examples, I recently ordered a book thinking it was the cheap Hardback version. Its turns out its over expensive paperback. I could have got it somewhere else cheaper and would have arrived soon as well. The thing is that it clearly said paperback. I was just out of it when I order it and slightly impulsive. So instead of a deal, I got cheated. Oh, well. You have luck with books and then you don't.

Also with library and recently ARCs, I borrow/request them without thinking about the time I have. I want them so I take them and then struggle to read them all in time. And I usually read three avenge size books a week.
Hmm...

So this brief brings us to my "Alice and Wonderland Day Ban" or Wonderland Ban for short. It basically means I'm not buying any books till my Birthday which happens to be the day that Alice is meant to have went to Under Ground (or wonderland as most call it). So no books till the 4th May 2013, I know how will I survive for ten weeks ( or two months, a week and two days) without buying any books. I even have plan to shame myself by keeping a whiteboard with the number of unread books I own (131), the days till I last brought a book (Fuck, that's like 70 days by the end). I also have pre-order books coming in March, so that should help and I need to save for important things.

I also my college stuff is rather mess (Yay, we going to back to negative, but true negative). I got myself in this mess. Something I've always done is lie. All I do is lie. So when I face with the question how are things going with the project, I just nodded and mumbled okay. In truth, I'm terribly behind and I feel like crap because my body hates me (when its feels like it sometimes). Sometimes it my own fault, I just didn't do the thing or went down the wrong road and should have done a u-turn. I also avoid things that I don't like.

I have realised that Moodboards are my emery. I will never like them, and don't get much from them.

It might be,  because I'm dyslexic and already a really visual person. I mean I already sort of see things in my head, hell I can even vision stuff I saw years ago. Its still all in my head. I can bring back. I only need a picture if I want to copy it in close detail and even then I don't want

What I'm basically saying is that I can form a moodboard in my head and have complete idea there. Another thing is it kinda annoying as someone who actually does design as a job, doesn't have time to all this complicate research and so far I already knew a lot about things that they made us go into detail about.

I'm actually going to be rather buzy in the next months. I've enter my novel into a contest to be published by Random House. Its only an ebook, but the price is still petty epic and it also gives me some motivation to finish it. Its the same novel as my June Camp NaNoWriMo or The Stranger. You can see the first three parts (Prologue and first two proper chapters).

There is currently a good chance I might be doing a theatre production. I'm saying might as I plan to go to the meeting, but I might hate the whole thing or something. So I don't want to go into details till I know I'm definitely doing it. Though, it is a musical I'm very familiar with.

So in summary this basically what I plan to do with my self while I'm still a teenager:  reading, designy arty college stuff; writing a novel to a proper deadline and possible drama.

That all look great on UCAS when I -currently planning to- apply to do English and Film.

So my four old self happy because I did go to "art school"; now my young teen self can be happy that I am going down the possible scriptwriting/something to do with film route; all selves are happy because I'm going after books and now if only if I can please the actor in me somehow.
